I have the Corbeau Forza seat w/ rails, the fabric is excellent but the seat hits the door still on the side when the seat is push back. Unless you like riding all the way forward or halfway I think this seat is a tight fit! Soooo im selling it and getting the Bride Zeta III instead.

hey guys i need some help

i'll be getting my car on the track soon, but i'm running into a bit of an issue

my instructor is too large to fit in my Bride Low Max Seats
hes about 6'4" and has like a 40 or 42 waist (he's not fat or anything, just a big dude lol)

is there any seat that you guys could recommend that i can put in the passenger side so that he can fit with his helmet on? with the helmet he's probably about 6'6" or something

any help would be appreciated

Update:

Corbeu fx1 pro fit with no problems but if you have an autopower 6pt roll cage you won't be able to run the front of the cage because the seat sits high and blocks the halo bars .

Anybody ever try a 04-06 GTO seat, 98-02 Fbody seat, or a c5 vette seat? Theyre all far more comfortable and seem to be about the same size.

UPDATED
10-21-2011
I just installed Recaro Spirit R seats and they fit with the Autopower 6 point roll cage

Will fit

1. Stock FD Seats (does this really need to be on the list?)
2. Recaros from the Spirt R
3. Gias Lowmax
4. Bride Zeta III
5. Bride Vios III lowmax
6. Mazdaspeed Type-F
7. Memoryfab s58
8. Corbeau - some models, they supply the custom racks.
9. Sparco Sprint V
10. Recaro Profi and or SPG ( with slight rubbing to the door but not much, if you use Recaro rails instead of bride it will fit fine)
11. Sparco Roadster
12. Sparco EVO with stock seat rail (shoulder bolster will rub on the door)
13. Sparco Milanos
14. Memory FAB S58
15. Recaro Spirit R will fit with AUTO POWER 6 point cage

Will fit with modifications

1. Corbeau FX1 - fits with seat modification. Corbeau FX1 Install in FD
2. Sparco Evo 2 - - fits with seat modification.
3. Rx-8 seats (can be made to fit by modifying the racks)
4.Cobra Imola (with some minor triming of door side shoulder wing)
5. Sparco Torino 2 (modify the stock rails and get rid of the seat belt buckle they fit (barely))
6. Recaro Sportster CS seats placed on stock rails (tight fit) http://users.telenet.be/sammyrx7/ima...29_JPG_jpg.jpg
7.Bride Vios III lowmax WITH AUTOPOWER 6 POINT CAGE, must notch the side of the frp
bucket for the side bars to fit. Everything else fits!

Will NOT fit

1. Sparco Fighter
2.Corbeu fx1 pro fit with no problems ,but if you have an autopower 6pt roll cage you won't be able to run the front of the cage because the seat sits high and blocks the halo bars .
___________Pending pics
1. Sparco Torino (RecKleSs)

what ever you get make sure its the lowest sittig rails or sliders available. Most aftermarket seats sit high. if you are taller than 5'6"good luck

The cool looking seats they have shown are Corbeau UK knockoffs.

A GTO seat would be pretty cool in an FD but they are HEAVY. I think its a bit wide though. It might rub against the door/center console.

I wouldnt mind having this seat in the FD, although the GTO stitching in the seat would look out of place in an FD. lol

But yes you are right, they are comfortable.

Just get the dimensions of the seat you are curious about, and then compare them to one of the seats that does fit and a seat that does not. If you are closer to the one that doesn't fit, there's your answer.

True, was just curious as to why they weren't already on the list. Found a few people that got them to fit and few that didn't. Altogether it just seems like a PITA.

Hello rotaryfreaks ;o)

I am about to buy a very nice set of Recaro seats from a Mitzubishi EVO 9, anyone knows if they will fit ? the seller has messured it to : Width 55 cm (21,65 inches) Length 65 cm (25,60 inches) Height 95 cm (37,40 inches) and I have messured the OEM seats to: 52 cm (20,47 inches) Length 60 cm (23,62 inches) Height 90 cm (35,43 inches) maybe anyone can confirm the OEM messurements ? hope someone can help me, as theese Recaro's are sooooo sweet.

^ you need to make sure the base of the seat is no larger than 20 inches at it's widest point. Also the Shoulder bolsters up top need to be no larger than 21 inches or they'll make nice nasty little indents in your door panels.

If you put the stock seats from an EVO into an FD, your head will (probably) literally be through the roof.

The FC, FD, and MR-2 in my experience all have very low stock seats. The EVO and Impreza have so much extra headroom that if you install a racing seat on the floor, the car will look like it's being driven by a child. OTOH, a racing seat with the wrong rails in any of these cars will cause the seat to be HIGHER than the stock seat.
