OTOH, a racing seat with the wrong rails in any of these cars will cause the seat to be HIGHER than the stock seat.
Ha ha yep unless you are very small

Just dry fitted pole positions in my car. required a lot of custom work but they do fit...

Will fit

1. Stock FD Seats (does this really need to be on the list?)
2. Recaros from the Spirt R
3. Gias Lowmax
4. Bride Zeta III
5. Bride Vios III lowmax
6. Mazdaspeed Type-F
7. Memoryfab s58
8. Corbeau - some models, they supply the custom racks.
9. Sparco Sprint V
10. Recaro Profi and or SPG ( with slight rubbing to the door but not much, if you use Recaro rails instead of bride it will fit fine)
11. Sparco Roadster
12. Sparco EVO with stock seat rail (shoulder bolster will rub on the door)
13. Sparco Milanos
14. Memory FAB S58
15. Recaro Spirit R will fit with AUTO POWER 6 point cage

Will fit with modifications

1. Corbeau FX1 - fits with seat modification. Corbeau FX1 Install in FD
2. Sparco Evo 2 - - fits with seat modification.
3. Rx-8 seats (can be made to fit by modifying the racks)
4.Cobra Imola (with some minor triming of door side shoulder wing)
5. Sparco Torino 2 (modify the stock rails and get rid of the seat belt buckle they fit (barely))
6. Recaro Sportster CS seats placed on stock rails (tight fit) http://users.telenet.be/sammyrx7/ima...29_JPG_jpg.jpg
7.Bride Vios III lowmax WITH AUTOPOWER 6 POINT CAGE, must notch the side of the frp
bucket for the side bars to fit. Everything else fits!
8. Recaro Pole Positions (HEAVY modification)

Will NOT fit

1. Sparco Fighter
2.Corbeu fx1 pro fit with no problems ,but if you have an autopower 6pt roll cage you won't be able to run the front of the cage because the seat sits high and blocks the halo bars .

I'm noticing that the Bride Zeta III's are in the "Will Fit" list, but doing research indicates that it should rub against the door. The only version that will definitely fit without causing rubbing would be the Zeta III Type-S. The Zeta IIIs are a lot wider than the VIOS IIIs! Can anyone definitely confirm this?

Prices vary too much over the life of this thread to have much meaning, where-as diminsionss, fit/don't fit are static. This tread is useful to combine with ones own research of what seat features one wants, price range acceptable etc to get teh ulitmate answer "Does the sucker even fit"

I dont know if minor touching of door panel should count as fit/ fit w/ mod or no fit; personel I would call fit with a foot note as I am more concerned about what seats just can not be made to fit regardless.

To be conservative I placed my Cobra Imola seats in the "Will fit with mod category", they do rub the drivers door, but a minor snipping mod to the outside shoulder wing (not even noticable under the fabric and can't be a safety issue as the door is there anyways) fits fine. Mobs to stock seat rails to accept side mount was much more extensive.

I disagree, Prices don't fluctuate THAT much... Maybe $50-$100 over years. I think most people would be happy with a ballpark range to give them an idea of which seats to pursue within their budget.

And since the list is using a reply with quote + add , then it's really easy to update pricing if it changes drastically.

There is now a fairly large list of seats that fit, so peoples choices will come down to price and style.

any chance anyone knows whether the r35 gtr seats would fit? I realize its a very large car but the seats look rather narrow and hug very well. Thanks in advance

I have a 36" waist and wear a holster which adds another inch, so I have been concerned about fitting into most of these seats... i ended up ordering a pair of red Corbeau A4 with matching rails for the FD, around $900 shipped total.... they look good, not too expensive, and seem to have a fairly wide seat base while still fitting the FD

Will post some shots once in

Please let us know how low these sit. It's my impression that all Corbeau's have bottom-mount pegs that prevent the seats from mounting against the floor without modification to the seat.

Out of the seats that fit does anyone k ow which ones if any lower the seat position? Did an event at VIR a few weeks ago and my head hit the ceiling. Looking for something that will lower my position that I can install for track events.

David - I know the spirit R recaros will lower your seat position...sparcos will fit with modified rails that will lower your seat position. Were you sitting completely upright? Gets tricky with that helmet on..I even have to recline a bit to give space for my big head.

I was reclined way too far back to be safe. Had to hold myself upright and then lean to the right to fit. Definitely not ideal.

With your recommendationa do you think I will clear. I am 6 feet tall. I figure I need two inches ideally.

Im 5'6 and its close for me. I don't think it'll be ok for you. Hit up Dale Clark..I think he had some things done to improve his fitment in the car...also Gringo may have some ideas.

I'm 6'6" so I'm trying to find a seat I can use to fit with a helmet on as well. I have to basically fully recline the seat just to drive around so with a helmet my neck is angled and my driving position is horrible.

I think I'll try the Corbeau FX1 seats and attempt to get them as low as possible. For track days i could remove the bottom cusion Otherwise I may just concede I'm simply too tall for this car in general, let alone with a helmet.
