Speed Machine Closed?

Anyone know if speed machine has closed its doors for good? I am trying to purchase a haltech from them but the site is down mailbox is full. I know they pop on the forum sometimes so I thought I would see if I could get in touch with anyone who knows what is going on?

Haha that is what I was thinking but thought I should throw it out there. Well I wonder if Haltech will give me a sweet package deal then.
Someone from Cali wanna go by and knock on the door? Haha

Because the rotary game is a shrinking community that will not continue to support full time businesses forever, especially with the current state of politics on this forum.

It's only temporary. There's still a heavy enthusiast base. There's also the Rx8 in the future.

The after market auto industry in general is hard to stay afloat in.

Especially when you start to cater to a certain crowd such as rotaries which isn't as wide spread to generate a constant flow of income.

Honda's/Subies/Evo's seem to be where it's at right now.

Rotary engines certainly is a niche industry that I don't think the RX-8 is helping to sustain/grow. Hopefully Mazda will release something more than a concept car rotary to liven up the community some.

Because SoCal is overflowing with "rotary experts". There are more rotary "experts" than there are actual drivers. It really ends up being a driver's market.

Well, I got to see their Supra before they closed shop.

I dont know if they are closed but i do know that the site crashed in november, suppsedly due to a certain employee that ended up embezzling from the company and was said to crash the site on purpose. this is what i was told by SMP themselves. it took from november to a couple weeks ago for them to get my credit back to me. Certainly harsh times... sad to hear.

I've known Dave for a while, always been good to me

Wow I didn't hear about the embezzlement, same thing happened to me around Dec/Jan. I ordered a Haltech and they told me the payment was declined, yet the exact amount was missing from my account. I thought it was something screwed up with the online ordering. Took my bank over a month to investigate and re-credit my account.

check the haltech section here on the forum...i forget the screen name.....but they sell haltech packages on their site.
I recommend Chris (C. Ludwig) at http://www.ludwigmotorsports.com/ That's where I ended up going for mine.
