I have a question though, are the "Extended Side Moldings" considered the side skirts or the actual door molding itself? Because I'm assuming that we're missing one of these items in our list.

^ think skirts are missing

Wow, I had completely given up hope on this one, as I am sure many of the original guys had. I am down for everything minus the wing and lip (all carbon if possible).

The skirts are not tamon design products they impliment the use of the RE skits with their widebody, skirts that shine already has available.

if you read the last few pages dont expect anything real to happen until 4th quarter of this year. Especially since shine has some catching up to do with other previous projects from the downtime they have had because of the recent move.

For those who are lookin for more pictures of the kit, i found this among my stash

With this you do not have to use the FC2000 front bumper, i think any front bumper works well with this body. Especially any lip equiped stock S5 bumper.

To answer your question to the Extended side moldings they are just side moldings (side Maul). The side skirts iv stated before are already available through shine, they are the RE skirts.

If you can organize the buy from Japan, organize the sea container..
4000/25=160.00. Hire a freight forwarding company to handle the dispersement here.

Well I'd say we got a pretty good chance of shine getting around to this. Once they are all caught up from the move there seems to be a good amount of interest in this kit. Even if the price is close to the same as tamon designs a lot of us like shines work and would pay the price.

If you were following this thread we had already discussed this issue.

Why pay shine price when you can order from Tamon directly?

The options involved getting a decent copy state side outweigh the authenticity of the kit.

1. Availability - While the authentic tamon kit may be available to us now, it takes several weeks - months to receive them from overseas. It would be also beneficial for those who do not wish to have the full kit and would like to buy just parts, would you wait? Probably not and move to something more local. If shine were to have the product under their belt would far outweigh the current availability of product through tamon themselves.

2. Quality and Fitment - No kit is perfect kit, Tamon Design and Shine auto is no exception. In fact there are several members who have tamon products and shine products that can give testimony to that. But shine does offer already the FC2000 front bumper, RE Sidekirts, which were shown in the Tamon Design Demo car. They have proven very decent quality while we cant say much for tamons raw kits that they would send out. Of course body work would need to be done either way, but less work that needs to be done is more desirable.

3. Group Buy Possibilities - Ehh maybe..

4. Less wait time for future FC tuners - There are many FC owners and future fc owners already looking into this kit who are not ready to buy now..but definitely further down the road. While I myself am ready to buy now, Id hate to have people lose the opportunity to jump on this. I am Just lookin out for the FC community.

BLAH BLAH BLAH....
Have you ever seen a real Tamon piece? Would I wait, for the real thing, yes. It took the big 4 weeks to get my hood from Japan, its not months or years.
If you were really looking out for the FC community outside of the confines of your own cheapness, and drop the strawmen argument of time constraints out of your argument for covering for your lowballer attitude you would order it from Tamon.. Looking out for the FC Community? where ? Get real, you are looking out for yourself , and yourself only. Certaintly not the global FC community .When the innovators go belly up from reduced sales, the parts support for the "FC community" will disappear as well.

lol Yukitama whats up? So are you saying that I am cheap because i would rather have shine provide the kit than tamon? Yes i have seen a real Tamon product, but i have not seen enough to make any sort of judgement on the quality of their work. Your right by buying the kit myself from tamon, it would help out the community. I was actually considering buying directly from japan and sending the entire unit to shine for them to copy. But since they had a big move they stop all projects for awhile so i was not able to really get a chance to discuss the matter. I can understand where you stand and i am sure you have a history of frustration with lowballers and i empathize and sympathize with you. But the fact still remains someone (definitely not me) needs to bring better availability of the product to this part of the world. That does help the FC community, by a small amount if any.

wingsofwar I couldn't have stated it better myself. as for cheap shine is already stated earlier it would cost about the same for them to produce it. The only cost savings is really going to come from shipping. I like the idea of shine offering this kit because I own more then one fc. I like the fc2000 front nose (should of came like that from the factory) have a state side supplier of dress up parts would be nice shine offers some of the best looking for our cars. If they are cappable of saveing us a few bucks in doing so great It means we got more to spend on other aspects of our cars.

I think where you guys are not getting it, is if you dont support the companies that actually design the parts, you will see even less designed for it.. Putting effort into designing a product isnt the same as putting in the effort to copy it, nor does it remotely have the same skill or cost involved. Hint, Greddy.
If its near the same cost, who is making easy profit here?
Tamon has no problem shipping to North America, I have spoken with them about the front end kit, they are quite willing to ship, saying you can't get it here, is a red herring.

If its near the same cost, who is making easy profit here?
Tamon has no problem shipping to North America, I have spoken with them about the front end kit, they are quite willing to ship, saying you can't get it here, is a red herring.
Your absolutely right Yukitama, The kit IS available to us now from Tamon. The right thing to do is support Tamon themself rather than having shine offer a copy of the kit. That way Tamon will benefit from the profits of their own parts rather than another company. Having a North American Supplier of Tamon would tip the scale dramatically and could give the opportunity to store other Tamon products such as their wide FD kit found on the Scoot 4Rotor FD3S.

Now it would be an entirely different subject if the copy was made available in different materials, such as flexible urethane, or carbon composite. Which I am not aware that Tamon does offer otherwise. If they do, It WOULD actually be better to buy from tamon as a group. If not, I get nervous having the thought of a big box of FRP material being shipped from overseas without insurance, which can get extremely pricey on top of Shipping.
