Mazdaspeed GT-C clone
Hey Ken,
I'm not really sure what lines you can and can't cross when it comes to copying aero components, but I'm interested ( and I'm sure others are as well ) in the Mazda GT-C kit for the FD. Let me know what you need don in order to make this and if it is even possible for you to make a clone of the kit. If you can mark down for one entire kit, I'm looking for some flared fenders as well front and rear. Thanks
Chris

A while back there was another thread like this. I am interested and people said to try the JKL kit but with the problems people are having getting their products and the fact that the kit was supposed to be a limited run I do not really know if the kit is still available. But yes i would love to see Shine come up with a GT-C kit.
I think the only way this will get done faster is if someone can drop off either a Real GT-C bumper or one of the JKL bumpers so Shine can make a mold. I also know Pettit racing makes this bumper and the '99 spec without the plate holder, but i do not know the quality of their fiberglass products.
it is one of the top 3 fd kits. the highest quality gtc bumper made was by JKL, but JKL hasnt had any activity since october 2009 on the forum and the past few months has been missing in action entirely with alot of people upset over deposits they left with no replys or products. i was going to get a gtc bumper from them but looks like im not sure anymore?? if it comes down to it a used authentic one but ill have to deal with fiberglass. yuck.

I was hoping there would be more interest in this bumper. I love shine's work and I think this would be a good addition to their product lineup. I guess only a handful of other people agree.

That would be great if Shine would make this nose. Shine actually knows how to produce body parts that fit properly.
Don't use the JKL replica as a mold unless it was tried and verified to fit well. The one used on his car to sell them fit well. Unfortunately I got ripped off paying good money and waiting through a long group buy for the JKL one that does not fit as adverstised.

^^^ true that!! Mine looked like it WAS the mold, as all of the edges were badly cut and re-glassed together.( always had an excuse for not being able to discuss it or have time to help make it correct) It fit like crap for the time and $$ spent. Just another added to the list of crappy aftermarket companies. the T2 lips I got from them also were shipped in a box with barley any wrapping All that were sent were destroyed. Thanks JKL!! Hope you enjoy the last of everyones money you took!

im willing to drop 600 or so on this...and a downpayment to help get this going???
maybe we can get a few people to buy a used mazdaspeed one in japan for ken to make the mold of it? i have a person that can source this! i would use an authentic mazdaspeed one if it wasnt fiberglass, i need flexible frp for bumpers no exceptions.

Its a beautiful piece, but I think JKL bit the dust.
Shine really needs to grab one up and repoduce it in their FRP.
it would be a classic that would always have a market.
hey guys thought id chime in. maybe to help out.. but first the gtc front bumper and side skirts have been duplicated 10 fold by numerous companys in the us. look and youll find one. not saying fitment would be good but saying. second the 2 most rarest parts to find are the rear bummper caps and spolier. i think there are only 2 people in the us that have the full kit. and one of them is my close friend for years fourtyounce. but his bumper and sideskirts, and spoiler arent official mspeed. only the rear caps which he paid about 850.00 for. he pieced parts together to make the full kit. which well is a piece of art. pics attached. hope shine gets this going for you guys.
