yeah charging by the car might be easier 'cuz we don't want to rope off the entire area and keep people out. and if people feel $20 to enter a show is too much, we can give 'em a t-shirt and sticker to make 'em feel better

i understand it's a LOT of work for the socal club people organizing it. it's unfortunate that mazda isn't eagerly willing to continue support (i actually don't really understand why that is)... but this has grown to become such a defining event of the rotary community. i don't think even the z-car people have anything like this. i think we should keep this flame going... and i'll gladly help in any way i can

I'm a die-hard DSM'er in the epicenter of DSM culture, NE Ohio. Dave Bushchur holds the DSM shootout in Norwalk, OH every summer and DSM enthusiasts from all over the world pay $20 to get in, because they know they won't get to experience anything like this for another year. The problem is that you're asking for money, rather than making people pay to get in. I know of some doh-mestic V8-loving rednecks who would pay $20 to see a four-rotor in the flesh; surely the rotary community itself would pony up. I'm contemplating making the trek from cleveland myself, even if I don't own a rotary, because it's an experience you just can't get anywhere else. You could probably turn a profit with the right marketing; why not at least ensure that your costs are covered?

They need every dollar they can to get the car to actually run to the event sigh i crack myself up. Anyways its a great point, really its not to much to ask to cough up some cash. Easier said then done tho right?

It's all talk until you all step up! Remember, we are in this together.

Keep the faith... SS-8 might be around the corner!

Dont ask for $, charge an entry fee. FIgure up what the extra costs to the SO Cal club will be to do it this way. How far of a drive from Mazdacomp is it to Mazda Raceway?

yes for SS8! i wouldn't mind paying a fee, but i already blow alot of money for shirts and raffle tickets when im there. also i love the banquets, its always interesting to see who i will be dining with and what speakers will come. i actually think the tickets are pretty cheap, but dont quote me on that.

Thanks for the input DSM POWERED... the last few years, cost have been covered, but all of the organization and free volunteer labor that goes into it, is a little harder to cover. SevenStock is, and will continue to be, by the enthusiast for the enthusiast. We could've made it a commercial deal a few years ago, but SS is not about that... it's about the WORLDWIDE Rotary community getting together to share and just chill for a few days... this is what the SS spirit has been... our little BBQ. What we want everyone to know, is that we do this for them, not to make money or even make any profit... all the money we make, goes right back into SS. If SS goes on, it will still be with this spirit in mind....

Enough reason?

Thats my love for rotary engines, I just hope I can get there some year, no matter what I want to be there, see all the generations, admire the FD's.

Hear the rotary sound from the rotary engines.

All in all, this carshow is unique, it is unique from all other shows.
It is not just a few europeans and australlians that loves this, everytime I watch the video of 8 minutes from 7 stock I get thrilled.

So does other rotary lovers... Cutting the string to this would be a major set back.
This is what this SS deal is all about!!! Sweeper RX-7, hopefully you'll make it out to an SS one of these days!

Say $20.00 dollors for adults, $10.00 dollors or even free for kids. use the whrist
band type jobs. does a entrance fee fall into another type of event to the city of ervine? meaning sercurity, taxes, and what not for public events. i would think the event being roped off if a entrance charge is in effect. and i can't really see
it roped off either. thats a tough one. getting out of hand and rocketting away from the idea of the whole BBQ get-togethers. maybe by september mazda will have released the twin turbo rx8's. I look forward to SS8 and i'll help out if you
need it.
Thanks Mark... all things are being considered!

Fortunately, Mazda has been supportive of the event in years past, and they are seeing the need to continue this very unique event. So, only good things can come of trying to get another SS event off the ground. The interesting thing is, that many at Mazda have asked me, "when is SS8?" One of the main reasons SevenStock has been so successful, has been Mazda, and I think that they will continue to work with us, the enthusiast community, to continue to bring you all very unique events, like SevenStock!!

I would love to attend. A few friends flew down from canada but unfortunately I could not make it. I have been following the Sevenstock since day one and I have to at least make it this year.

I can only see how this can benefit Mazda by showing support for the rotary.

Simple answers to simple questions.

Should there be another SevenStock? Yes

Why? Because the masses mandate it.
