From Berny H:
Allan... well please go APOLOGIZE at it is NOT club policy to have the V8
guys shut their hoods at SS.
I do understand that some guys took it upon themselves to ask folks to close
their hoods, but this is NOT OFFICIAL club or SS organizer policy.
The signs are there in the full spirit of the show, not as absolute law. We would love
to have it a 100% pure RE, but a few RXs always get by, as we do not have
any official SWAP police or inspectors, and more critically the manpower to
check all rides.
So that only took 2 months to get an answer to my question on open hood policy.
I apologize to all you Chevy and Supra engine swap lovers.
Apparently I was wrong to think this was an all ROTARY ENGINE event.

^+1 to that.. Lets play nice guys....3 or 4 Piston engine RE' bodies wont hurt... We still outnumber them by like 1000. Look at it like this, the owners that did do the RX to Piston swap obviously either started with the love of a rotary or was willing to waste their time and money to do a piston swap, and then go to the biggest Rotary meet, only so nobody or almost nobody would care. I wouldn't mind buying a hardtop FC for dirt cheap and swapping a V8 so I can smash on it till it breaks and just go to the junkyard and pick up another since they are myriad available.
Its like Fake Breasts.... some people like them, some hate them, some dont care, some dont hate but not prefer them, some think they look slutty.... etc.

I love both of them. They both have their perks.
I'll drive the rotary one to sevenstock each year as long as it still runs.
The desert near the windmills always gives me heating issues and it has no ac.

I have one of each.

Just a thought... I think there should be no revving in the show area because all of us clean the crap out of our cars and then we all back in with our exhausts facing the dirt and when idiots rev it blows dirt all over the car behind them. If you aren't backed up to dirt with a car behind you then I say go ahead and rev all day long.

I just mean the regular cars in the regular lot because all of us are backed up to the dirt. Anyone in the courtyard or in the outer edges can rev all they want. I just know in previous years alot of peoples cars got dusted out. And that 20b was the baddest part of the show, or at 7stock 9 when they actually drove some of the real race cars and that one rx8 busted that long *** burn out right through the crowd. That was awesome.

Really? I never heard there was a dusting problem. (chuckle) If you say so...
And I never hear much revving after someone just backed in. Usually they just shut down, get out and start walking.

^ I don't know where you have been at all the past sevenstocks then
Every time I go, there is some idiot revving and saying look at me I have a bov, even though almost everyone there has a bov and no body is impressed. I know your just trying to start problems but its not gonna work with me. Lets just all have a good time and keep our cars clean.

So that's your spin? Everytime I post I'm a trouble maker? BS
There have been 3 Sevenstocks at the new venue, once it rained...so twice I never heard anybody whining about dusting from exhausts. Maybe it's a problem on the FC row? And I have 3 white FCs...maybe if it was black I'd be more sensitive, otherwise ...meh.
I go to the weekly car show several times a month at the same parking lot, 500 exotics, muscle cars, sportcars, vintage cars...nobody ever mentions a dusting problem, and people are free to come and go when they please so there's always movement.
www.cncpics.com
Quit exaggerating...like "almost everybody has a BOV".
Just wipe your car down after you park and be happy...nobody moves till after 2pm.

I think NYCGPS is flying out now.
My trip is still on, I leave home for the trek in about 43 hours Only a final wash, wax, and then road wrap protection film to apply.
I've got some event advertisement on my 8 for the drive over, I've been planning and gearing for this trip and event since May when I saw the date was posted. Plenty of excitement. Can't wait to meet you all. I will have a co-driver I'm picking up in northern NJ (RX8club.com maxdammigz) that wanted along for the ride and event. I will also be linking up with the Phoenix AZ caravan friday morning, so you AZ people should see me earlier.
My 8 should be pretty easy to pick out: (both sides)
