Thank you to the organizers for a great event. Everything was well run.

I have 20 years of history with my FB, but this is the first time out on the track with her. Although she was not exactly fast, we had a good time out there. I was able to drive the 100 miles to get there, run the track hard, and still get home in one piece. Nothing fell off, everything went smooth for me. Not even an oil leak. Scrubbed a lot of rubber off the outside left tires around turn 2, and almost took her off the track a few times coming out of turn 9. I kept that FB pegged at 6-7K RPMs the whole time. 158K on the ODO. That ment so much to me. Many of the newer cars were not so fortunate.

One girl told me that she went to the Mazdatrix booth and they confirmed that she blew both rotors on her '93.

Then there was that Miata that tried the late braking game of chicken at the end of the main straightaway, and lost to my friend's Mazdaspeed3. I bet that the Miata was gambling that the heavier MS3 would have to brake early out of the high speed straight, leaving him an opportunity to take the lead. But my friend is an advanced driver, and his MS3 has Nittos, and other mods. So the Miata lost his gamble and took it into the wall and spent the rest of the day parked in the infield. My friend felt really bad about the Miata, but the officials all stated that the MS3 had made the pass and was in the clear. They didn't understand why the Miata stayed on the outside so far past the braking cones.

I got the feeling that some of the Miata boys were getting a bit rude. Even in the beginners group they'd be passing on turns 3, 4 and 5. During a yellow flag, I was slowing up to let a black RX8 turn around, who had spun out on turn 3. Then these two Miatas just blew right past us like we were in their way. I hope they are proud of their victory. (Only point-by passing along the straights is allowed in the beginners group)

Then I almost get run off the freeway by a Range Rover who is too lazy to look over their shoulder as they enter the freeway and cross four lanes of traffic. I tell you, the race track is so much safer!

Who was that tan FB that went off at turn 8 twice?

Glad you could come out and drive the car on track instead of just parking it and sitting pretty, that's no fun IMO

Yeah, I saw at the last second that miata go off into the dirt. If he was really doing the late braking/chicken **** then he deserved to go off IMO.

About the passing in the "wrong" turns in the blue group: I noticed the same thing. It wasn't just the miata guys, the ride along cars were doing it too. I'm not sure if they just didn't listen in the driver's meeting or they were just being jerks. I was trying to be considerate and let anyone on my butt pass at the next straight, of which there were only really two, as explained to us in the driver's meeting. But I had a few guys try to go around me in all the wrong places lol.

Anyway, had a great time, that track is really fun.
