Haha... I've had a couple issues with the Audi, but nothing enough to call it junk

It's been a solid, well built car for me at least, and that's all that matters to me! The cost of maintenance on my car has been minimal at least. It's just another car with the same wear and tear items like oil, brakes, belt, etc.

I sent a dumb raccoon into eternity@60mph. Suprisingly no damage to my FC. The bumper sits so low I didnt run him over..... he just bounced off and flew a ways.

Planned on installing new windshield wipers, instead ran into a traffic sign. More info and pics to come. Repairable but my ego is hurt. LEO's were super cool, no tickets and told me if I hadn't hit the sign they would have just told me to go home.

Long story short, something failed in the rear suspension of the car. Was going under 50, no boost, through a turn I take 8-10 times a day and the entire back end just broke loose. Had a choice of pointing her across the median into incoming traffic or onto the shoulder of the road on my side. Got her going in the right direction and the grass was wet/soft so slid for a bit and hit a 55mph. Got some great pictures of it with the sign in the background (The Trooper thought it was funny and suggested I take the picture not knowing I had already).

More info and pictures to come.

Aw man, I hope the damage is not bad.

On the other hand, the destruction of a 55 mph sign is not a bad thing, I guess there is an up side to every bad situation.

Pictures. Looks a LOT worse than it is. The metal where the driver side headlight sits is bent to hell. I have an entire FD front end at home so not really worried about welding this in there. Going to see what insurance says. If they replace the hood and fenders I'll probably just pay out of pocket for anything else. Good excuse to take the car off the road for a couple months prepping for DGRR. =)

Funny story: After 2 hours, Trooper pulls up and first words out of his mouth, "Please tell me this is your kids car."

Funny story 2: Trooper says, "You know what would be funny? Take a picture with the 55MPH sign in the background behind your car (I had already done this)."

More pics: Impact with the sign was in about the best place it could be outside direct front or rear of the car IMHO. Annoyed but not upset. About as good as things could go all things considered equal.

FL Sunday Drive

Checked the fluids, and off I went. It was a gorgeous day and driving the RX-7 was pure pleasure.

JC - We need to get together some time. I'm over in Trinity, close by. A couple of guys in Tampa and I hang out frequently with our FD's as well. Hit the Tampa Bay Rotary Facebook page when you get the chance.

FL Tampa Bay Rotary?

Hey Gringo Grande,

That would be great. I tried to find the Tampa Bay Rotary Facebook Page but couldn't. Kept getting the Rotary Club (the service - as in good works - club). Can you be more specific?
