Stay as safe as you possibly can. My cousin's husband is in Iraq as well as the son of one of my mom's friends. It seems that everybody knows at least one or two people over there.

well, im a helicopter mechanic. . . so, i should stay relatively safe through-out the tour. i do appreciate the concerns though. . . im actually more worried about my wife and unborn son. im really not liking the fact that ill miss out on the first year of his life. . . i usually try not to think about it.

so, that leaves me thinking about how im gonna be out of debt when i come back home. . . completely!!! oh thatll be nice. . . and ill still have money to play with once im home. . . even with the newborn.

im stuck trying to figure out if i should sell the FD or keep it. if i sell it. . . thats more debt out of the way before i leave. if i dont. . . i dont have to worry about not having it when i come home. . . cause i do wanna keep it. the problem with that is that my wife would be in no shape to take care of it and i dont wanna come back home to a rotten rx7. . . ESPECIALLY, since i just rebuilt the engine in it. my dad and father in law would more than likely take care of it for me. . . although, i dont really care to tax the people i leave for 18months like that. i dunno. . . my dad already said hed take care of it for me. im sure itll be alright. . . or i could just take the engine out, break it down, and store it.

bah, i just dont know what to do.

I say let the car at your Dad's. As for the wife, is this the first time you are deployed with her around? If it is, is going to be very hard on her. I would recommend to have her with some family that she can see in a regular basis. I know when I got deployed for the first time(back in 96), my wife was not doing very well and that was only for 6 months. Even now that I have deployed more that 4 times away from my family they still have a hard time while I'm gone. Good luck though and watch your back

yeah, this is the first time. weve figured a living area around her family and in the same city as mine. i think shell be well taken care of. . . and my car will be in the garage. . . i may just take the engine out and break it down in order to be rebuilt when i get back home.

thanks. . .

Paul, between all of us in the group, we can make sure to start it once a month. I say keep it but you could alway get another one later.
Good luck, stay safe, and tell the family if they need help doing anything to give us a ring.
I hope you will be able to come home for the birth. That is a very emotional time that you need to be there for if you can.

This news sucks! I would hate to see you gone that long and with out another good looking FD at the shows.
