Hey Guys, and gals if there are any. Just wanted to see who might be interested in another Charleston area meet/ greet and cruise , and maybe have some beer and a small cook out afterward. Swapping parts and war stories ect ect.

BTW you have any S5 rollers or blown engines up there??
Well, when is this going to happen? I'm in Aiken, was in Charleston last week...not a bad trip, but a racoon caught the bumper lip and cracked my bumper on the way home.
I can still make a get together, so when will it happen? I'll even chase Reese down over in Columbia and drag him along!

John, last time I talked to you, you were working at MOX. I'm with DOE down there. Live in Aiken. Weren't you in Williston?
The meanest groundpounding 7 I've seen lately (not to disparage the above post, I just haven't seen it) is Steve Bertok's bruiser which is an 88 convertible with an LS1 in it. Extremely clean installation, all electrics professional, transmission fit in and made to work without a flaw. The car is amazing...best part is you wouldn't know what it had in it until he gets on it. Then its necksnapping. All at an extremely professional and very pretty level of installation. Steve races and runs a shop under the Panicmotorsports name. Reese knows him.

yeah bertok's car is amazing. i am part of the south carolina region of the SCCA with him. he is an amazing driver as well he is always in contention to win the spec miata races i volunteer at.
i really like his vert i just wish i could fit my engine under a stock hood so it did not have to have that crazy scoop on it.
the guy who built my engine said it should be built to have around 425 hp and 450 ft/lbs .............this car is extremely fun to drive.

His car electrics were done by a wizard out in NC who has a first gen Miata that is completely LED'd out. Just a real guru when it comes to doing electrical cleanly.
I've seen Steve's racecars and they are pretty neat. I haven't seen him drive, but heard he won a 12 hour race at VIR last year. He's racing this coming weekend from what I understand. Very knowledgeable to deal with as well. I've bought a couple of Miata's from him and he's done some motor work on my 93LE.
Instead of that scoop, do they make an L88 (?) hood for them?

he is racing this weekend i believe..... i will be flagging for the race
and no i do not believe they make a hood quite like that but i might go with a cowl hood later.

Anyone coming to the event on the 19th?? I"m local so I'll be there. I"ll be much happier if I can get my FC back on the road by then, but I'm thinking part out to pay for a 20B

Stephen, shoot me a message. Come over and help me bleed the brakes and clutch on the new car and we'll cook you dinner tonight. LOL.
