Thoughts on Palm Beach?

Currently live in NYC and contemplating moving down to Palm Beach for a good job opportunity. I am in my lower/mid 20's, how is the nightlife and more importantly are there people running around my age or is it an older crowd? Being from Florida I am quite familiar with Miami (my favorite FD guys) and been to the HardRock in Fort Lauderdale once, but don't know much about the east coast.

Thanks for your help.

I like Palm Beach. It's a slower atmosphere but still kinda has that South FL flair if you're into that. I think it's a pretty good mix of location, people and life enjoyment. There's plenty of younger people and night life to keep you busy. While it's definatly not Miami, you're only 1-1.5 hours away if you get a wild hair up your *** to go get wild.

Before you make your decision, fly down for a weekend to find out if it's your type of place. Don't stay on the beach... get out and mingle. Look at it as an interview of the city, not as a vacation.

i worked in downtown WPB for abou two years. night life is ok but its not miami. as RotaryRx-7 put it, when you get a wild hair up your *** you can always make the hike to Miami 1.5 hours away. there is lots of old money in WPB, expecially on the island. good place to work but be prepared to pay an inflated amount of money for rent if your on the island. there are many small cities just on the other side of the bridge that offer some decent rentals but again its inflated just becasue you are just on the other side of the bridge from the island.

If the job opportunity is better and you think it would offer you a better opporitunity later on in your career, i would move. if not, stay in NY, make millions, retire to South FL and get yourself a couple of 21 year old girlfreinds! ahahahahhahaahhah

oh and there are lots of places to buy rare watches on the island........ or at least look and drowel over them

21 year olds?! Why stop there? 18 is legal, and go big or go home!

I live in Manhattan now so I know all about paying inflated amount of money for rent and inflated prices for everything. I imagine ft lauterdale has a good night life scene and shouldn't be too far from palm beach? How is the car scene around there? Haha nyc isn't all its cracked up to be, I much prefer Miami although I wouldn't mind a couple of 21 year old girlfriends. BTW recently picked up a PAM111. Thanks for the help Simon.
