I put a little section on our forum just for the meet -

Check it out and stop in and say hello. It would be nice to see some new names over there!
Also, I will be posting pictures on the web site, so check back after the meet!

Well here it is 7-7-07 and I won't be making it up there, wish I could say it's due to the car, but alas it isn't. The wife has been coming down with something (dizzy spells) and I won't be able to leave her here alone (sure can't travel) If Garret makes it there can someone pass my shirt along to him ? Garret= G's3rdGen if not then hang on to it and I'll get you the funds to ship it. Thanks, Jack

For those that didn't go, for whatever reason, what can I say, except, you missed out!
The morning at Key Mazda was lots of fun. We got to test drive all three display cars (Mazdaspeed 3, Mazdaspeed 6, and RX-8). I personally only drove the 3, but, man, that thing is a pretty worthy FWD car. I think the only way it could be better (from the factory, anyway), is if it were AWD. It's definitely a fun-to-drive car. I heard the 6 and 8 were also fun. BIG thanks go out to parts manager Jeff Asano, as well as service crew guys Donnie, Charlie, and the other guy (sorry, forgot his name). They really made the morning worthwhile.
The BBQ/hangout at Carter Racing was fun, too. I thought we'd have more people get on the dyno, but those that did get up were pretty impressive. I would've liked to have seen that Z06 get up there, but no such luck. Tray should have put his LT-1 up there to see if he got better numbers than the FD's, but I guess he was skurred... Since he didn't get up on the dyno, I'm calling his bluff and saying his car makes no more powah than the Aspire!
It turned out well that we didn't go to the track. I think people would have been rather pissed about losing $25 to rain. We ended up staying longer than planned at Carter Racing instead, which worked out well. For those that didn't stay, we got Shaw up on the dyno. Turns out he made so much power it didn't even register on the charts!
Unfortunately, Transformers was sold out for the 7:30 and 8:00 shows, so that pretty much ended the day for most everyone. Ian and Ed were warriors, though, and waited until 10:00 to see it!
All in all, it was a great time. Key Mazda is definitely up for doing this again next year (8/8/08). Hopefully we get more than one 8 to show up next time.
Thanks again to all our sponsors:

Carter Racing Enterprises

Hey guys... I am so glad the event went well! I'm so bummed we couldn't make it. I had to work all weekend, since the previous weekend I was visiting my grandmother-- she's in the final stages of lung cancer, and may not be with us much longer.
Hopefully everyone got home safely from Savannah and had a great time. I look forward to meeting y'all at BOTD in September... we should be going out there.

Folks, please take some time and e-mail our sponsors to let them know they are appreciated. I've done it several times already, but it would mean a lot more if those of you who got something from the sponsors sent a little thank-you note.
Here's a list of who supplied what:
Atkins Rotary - oil filters, rebuild videos
Carter Racing - self explanatory
ReSpeed - stickers, oil filter pedestals
Rotary Resurrection - 10% off rebuild*
Rotorsports Racing - T-shirts, RX Tuner magazines
Key Mazda - 95 wiring diagram, t-shirts, vacuum diagram (I SO wanted to keep that for myself... :p), koozies, visors, and, of course, breakfast, test drives, and a cool place to hang out
Grassroots Motorsports - free subscriptions to Sports Car magazine (have to talk to Tybeeshark for contact info)
*I know some of you are wondering about Rotary Resurrection's contribution. I didn't get anything tangible from him, other than the offer. I meant to include it on a card in the drawing, but I forgot. If there's anyone who went to the event that's in the market for a rebuild in the near future, and would like to use Rotary Resurrection, please PM me between now and Saturday morning at 8:00. If there are two or more people interested, I'll pick by some random means.
Speaking of random, I understand there was at least one person who didn't get anything at the drawing. If whoever that was would PM me, I'll see what I can do. I thought sure everyone had something, but there were one or two who really made out, and I'm sorry it wasn't more equally distributed.
