Ok after some more research I have good and bad news. Heres what I got as a response from Another builder.

"the end plates are fine, and offer a nice mix of low end torque capability and long duration for high end power, with working aux ports... but if you're building the motor it would be worthwhile to use a turbo intermediate housing which has larger ports stock, and more meat to port so you can make the primary ports quite a bit larger than your stock 6 port intermediate housing.... then either grind the exhaust diffusers then port the exhaust ports on your rotor housings , or pickup turbo rotor housings which have no diffuser and port those."

Ok so Zack you need S5 NA end plates afterall. With a turbo 2 intermediate.

totpkg (ken kearny) said he has two s5 NA irons and he lives right next to me here in Charleston. I don't know what this T2 intermediate plate is. I don't even really understand everything going on here, but as long as you know, Chris, then that's great!

Are you suggesting that after we get these pieces, that then a porting job be done on top of that?

Zach

someone needs to have a preplanned route if we are driving. This late in the season some of the mountian roads will not be usable. I wont have a new top till january so if there is bad weather i will have to take the truck.
Jamie i thinki saw youre bro up here on I26 today with a trooper behind him on the side of the interstate. (sorry I cant remember his name)
Zack the intermediate hsg is the center plate if the engine. Yes I re port everything for you. We will have to discuss how wild or mild you want to be. Your port that was on the 6port was quite mild. (place evil face here)

man that sucks, hope he didnt get a ticket.. btw, my name is Jamin not Jamie, and my brothers name is Toby, get it right! jk

also, i soaked the rotors out of the vert engine for several nights in zep cleaner. it looks like the front rotor is trashed, it is pitted all over by the rust, and i cant get the side seals out without gouging the surface.. the rear rotor came apart like butter, definately reusable. so it looks like all i need is a good S5 front iron, and S5 front rotor to rebuild it.. but im in no rush i may just wait till the engine in the n/a lets go. but if anybody comes across those parts i need, let me know

and masin.. thanks for the fender Now my car has 3 different shades of white, S5 white, S4 white, and rattle-can white lol

megasquirt!!

chris,
yea i have the intermediate housing. do you need pics? and do you neeed it quickly.

as far as a route to take, i have been up in the mts. in the winter and never experienced closed roads. the only problem is the fact that it gets dark early, and we have a certain member of the club who, for good reason, will not go up there at night. when it comes to a "planned" route, we just say,.. uh.. lets go that way and then when it starts getting dark we head back.. if you guys want to make up a route it doesnt matter to me, but i have a request to hit up Hwy 151!!

jamin, looks great!

never experienced closed roads... hmm. well i have. the parkway up around 276 and section that goes to hwy 151 is closed this time of year. its a good thing you guys are planning the first saturday you may be able to squeeze it in there before they close it for the winter months. hwy 151 you can drive you just have to go thru BFE to get there and go up instead of down. i suggest silverstein off hwy 64. banked corners and off camber turns... its like a roller coaster ride and very fun.

wow...hwy 276...hwy 151...I know those roads!!! hahaha...thats not UPSTATE SC, THAT'S WNC!!! they are like a stone's throw away from my home! Shoot, why not do 74-A to lake lore? the can either take #9 back to SC (or towards black mountain and you can take i-40 back to i26), or hwy 64 to i26 in Hendersonville...

as for last weekend, neither of those roads were closed...and 151 isn't for the newbies, especially down hill! Another thought might be 215 off the parkway...any NC roads I can do a recon on the night before the meet and see if they are open..mostly 151 and 276 to brevard (or waynesville)

The only problem is the SC part...but I think i know how to get there from Big Daddy's!!!

Another that might be an idea is going out hwy 11, past 276 in SC and coming up through Rosman, NC...but i'm not as familiar with that route...so i would have to attempt it before the meet, but we dont hit any hi-elevations so the roads should be open..and come back thru Brevard to get back...(take ceasar's head (276) back)

So, tell me, since i started this thread, I can attempt to lead the NC portion of the drive, if we want to do a drive...do you want to travel out in BFE or come back in around Asheville? I mean, if no one has any restraints on what time they want to get home, we'll just stay out all night!!!
