Amen, brother! Someone else echos my sentiments. But some folks aren't ready for that level of insanity...err...committment (to a mental institution)...they will eventually shoot up the "full dosage" and be hooked.

Ashraf,
I know that CARGUYS rent the track at VIR sometimes. I may do that with a car I am building for autocross/track events. Will be a 85 GSL-SE widebody with a bridgeport and 48 IDA Induction. At least that is the plan. Ever heard of Sports and Compacts in raleigh? Your from durham right. I may go to some of the char grill events. Ive never been. Carl

Well on the same thread, it looks like Mazda Driving Assoc (the folks who brought you MADS: http://www.mazdadrivers.com/) will be posting a schedule next month covering the 2005 HPDEs, which usually involves weekend events at VIR and Summit Point. I know there was some question this past year as to whether or not they were going to continue to organize these events.

I for one am glad to hear that they are.

Hey guys, two quick questions. I have an '88 vert waiting for me in Southport NC. I'm told it has a driveshaft/u-joint problem so I can't drive it back. So the question are, any ideas on the best way to get it up here and where to get it fixed?

Do you have a trailer? Or tow vehicle?

Nah, was thinking I would jiust get a pickup/trailer from uhaul and go get it if nothing else.
Wasn't sure if a tow dolly on the front of it with the problem would be a safe thing to do.

Greg, When I took my 7 to Rotorsports for the engine rebuild I did the safe thing and rented a trailer from UHaul and tied it down on the trailer. My son had a friend with a big Ford SUV and they took it down while I followed them. By far the best way to get the car back to Raleigh. If all it has is a Universal joint and driveshaft problem that shouldn't be that hard to repair, any decent mechanic ought to be able to do it, heck, we might even have some guys in the club that could help you with it.

Go the trailer route, it will be much less of a hassle.

Bert, thanks for the info. I agree with you, unless the weather is perfect and nobody minds me driving 35mph all the way back to Raleigh....nah, I'm doing the trailer thingy. Should be picking it up in a couple of weeks so once I get it here I'll have it checked out. He drove it abit this weekend, runs fine but said vibration happens around 45mph.

You look great in your bibs, did you get the fee rollover worked out with G&W? What is that thang hangin' from the engine stand, a new Christmas ornament for your tree?

Xplain this rumor you heard, obviously Dave isn't gonna comment.

Yeh Bert G&W had someone waiting to take my spot, so they are going to remburse me. I really can't comment on the Rumor, just something I came across while browsing the forum.

Josh: you got your engine out yet, It took me about 4 hrs total, and I am just getting over the FLU I will probably deliver it to Kevin Landers on FRI, I think I am going to gut the engine bay and paint it and the whole car while the engine is out. Try and make it to VIR in Dec it will be a good warm-up so we all can run with Mazda drivers in the spring.

Steve & Dave where you guys at? are you working on another project?

I just saw Steve Saturday night. He and dave cleaned his garage that day, and Steve's busy working his third job--that is, talking on the phone with his girlfriend. I may get up with him over the next couple days so he can help me with my alternator pulley

The engine should come out this weekend. I finally decided on a course of action for the car. It is going to put it back on the road a lot faster than rebuilding the engine myself...hopefully.

I was going to keep this a secret, but I am about two seconds from bursting with excitement; I gotta share this with my fellow rotorheads. I AM GOING SINGLE before the end of the year. With the 'new' engine will also come a single turbo an SP74 which is a modded version of the Greddy PT74. I still have a lot of peripherals to buy mainly a FMIC intercooler, and various other smaller items. It will be a lot of work, but the bulk of it should be done by the end of the year. I am getting the whole setup from a guy out in W-S and it is going to go in as one unit, which should hopefully decrease the difficulty and tuning. Along with that we all know that going single decreases the complexity versus the sequential TT setup. Not to mention in the long run the deal I go will save me ~$1000 and probably a lot of headaches.

Wish me luck, hopefully this will be as straight forward as I am hoping. I need to start reading up on the single turbo info; something I'd always neglected since I'd planned on staying TT. I am hoping to see #'s well in excess of 400 RWHP after I get it all installed and retuned.

Hey guys, i've been crazy busy lately with school and my new job. Takes up most of my time. Thursday i drove up to Maryland and picked up another TII parts car. Goodies include, safc, s5 tails, short shifter, racing beat fcd, racing beat exhaust brembo rotors, and a couple other things. If anybody needs any parts, let me know. It has a PERFECT hood onit, color is black.

Josh, congrats on the new setup your gonna be getting.

Johnny, is kevin going to do that agressive "street port" for ya

Glad to hear you are OK, I think we need to have an intervention for you Steve. This addiction to RX7s has gotten out of hand. We all have the obsession, but you are even beating Johny out. Do you find yourself dreaming about a TII having your babies? Would you rather have another RX7 bone than eat this month? If so you need to seek help.

What is your new job?

I have been wanting to replace my wornout factory shifter with a short shifter to keep the hot air out of the cabin, is it in pretty good shape including the boots?

Oh, just sayin that because a while back you said you weren't sure if it still worked at the time. And I'd not heard anything on it in a while so I thought I'd throw that up.

Just don't hurt yourself anymore on my car

That's cool about it goin in... I'm hopin I can get it back on this break. Because all I have to look forward to tomorrow is going to the doctor to see if I need back surgery again -_-;; Er, and eating myself sick on Thanksgiving too. Woot.

Hey guys, sorry to cut in....

I'm parting out my S5 GTU... so any of you local FC guys need some parts let me know. I'm letting **** go pretty cheap. Not trying to "advertise" just trying to help some local owners find some parts...

-Jon

P.S..... thinking about coming to the meet next time, but I'll be pimping the oldsmobile
