Can I ask an even more stupid question? Why are you premixing if you still have your OMP working? Too much oil would reduce the gasoline combustion efficiency.

This is that FC, FWIW.

okay okay, i didnt know you already had part of the money "invested." not that you couldnt get your money back but either way, i know you want to do a run with the rotary. maybe next time, after you find out the light side is a fickle master you will go LS1.

you probably do need block off plates. it was just a thought.

Wait...those two comments are contradicting each other...
I wouldn't be so sure about that. I started it again a little bit ago when I got home, this engine might have given up the ghost yesterday. Part of me still thinks it's a stuck seal, in which case I'm gonna pour the seafoam stuff in there tomorrow night or sometime and see what happens. What's the harm right? I would put the seafoam in the gas tank right now and run it but I already got the oil in there, not too sure what that would do to the system. I revved it and white smoke just POURED out, and I drove it around the neighborhood and I have to get it up to 3K+ RPMs just to move and not stall. And I'm not pullin a fast one with the numbers, that's what Mazda told me. But alot can change in over a year, it was quite a while ago that it was done.

I figured it wouldn't hurt cause I think I might have fuel in my oil already, so more oil=no problem, haha.

Oh I could DEFINITELY get the money back, it's a nice V-mount. I'm just not sure about the rest of it right now.

If you are pouring out white smoke its probably coolant. Does it smell sweet? Coolant has a sweet smell to it when you burn it (and in liquid form, hence why dogs have a habit of licking it up then dying) Could still be a turbo issue, but is probably an engine issue. Well you have 3 weeks to pull that bitch and rebuild it before Deals gap there is no chance in hell of getting an LS1 in there in time. Hinson is just too slow...

Yeah I was thinking it might be coolant too but it doesn't smell sweet at all. Maybe I just thought it was white, might have been darker. The whole damn engine bay just needs to be swapped out (and no, not with an LS1 Josh, aka Vader!) Well Josh, maybe I'll just be using that money for the PFC to put down on your engine and then scraping together some more for a rebuild kit, but even if I do all that and get it back in it won't be broken in for the Gap. Dammit.

Burning pancake syrup = burning coolant in case you don't know that (which I'm sure everyone knows). You are right about anything happening within a year. Another thing you may want to consider is the fact that you are running premix now. Maybe the smoke you saw was a light blue instead of white. Also, I don't really know what color premix is when it burns. Stuck apex seal? Maybe. Your turbos aren't really working 100% so wouldn't that make your car run even richer? If that's the case, you are dumping more fuel in there and aren't burning it as efficiently. Incomplete combustion would yield sooty deposits (carbon buildup) which could cause an apex seal to be stuck. Remember these are just ideas for you to think about. I'm not an expert on these cars, but I just like to give people ideas.

A nailbat does wonders when it comes to computers. Choose your nails and configuration. Mine is a single nail THROUGH the bat, but you can have the original 6 nails driven into the bat but not coming out the other side. That's a scary thing too.

On another note.... C sharp... I changed my plugs in the T2 today. Even though I've only put maybe 10K on the engine since it was done a few years ago I figured what the heck, I'm bored and Deals Gap is coming up. Put the new ones in and went for a spin. Damn! Wish I had done that sooner, heck of a difference.

I wasn't talking about for the computer either. Has no one heard that saying? I was in kind of a funk last night, what with the car crapping out and other issues. I think what I'm gonna do is see if someone has a borescope, take my plugs out, and have someone turn the flywheel so I can physically look at each seal. That way if I see it's broken I won't bother trying to clean out the carbon. If they're all there and intact, I can maybe get a screwdriver or something in there to loosen it up.

EDIT: Upon researching the cost of borescopes, maybe I'll just use my mirror and a flashlight and see where that gets me, haha.

I change mine every few months, or when the car won't start anymore cause my plugs are fouled, whichever comes first, haha. Even if I use a wire brush to clean them and burn all the fuel out with a lighter, they still won't work again, have to use new ones.

Welcome to the club. I wasn't sure if that's what you meant, but I try to avoid those thoughts and save them for morning. They are usually stupid when you think of them in the morning.

eric, use the seafoam. a stuck seal is most likely (unless you had a boost spike, or fuel starvation) no need for panic yet.

on another, if your corner seals go, you wont be able to tell with a bore-scope. ask me how i know.

don't get stressed. if you really need to do a rebuild we can work something out on mine. i think what would take the longest is getting the irons re-faced (is that something we can do at a local shop?) Mine is already dismantled, so it would be easier (as in it would save us 2-3 hours

i'll call you this afternoon.
