Oh yeah, and the funny part was pulling into the zoo parking lot and seeing that other 'vert sitting there. Wish I could have found out who Cindy was.
Yeah, imagine finding that car where we pull up to park! here is the pic

and I found Cindy and got quick shot of her:

More pics to come later.

Rendezvous at the Zoo

Here are some more photos of the Zoo trip. I'll try to post them in order beginning with the arrival in Asheboro and the Zoop parking. Since Greg and I went by way of Greensboro to meet up with Dan we arrived in Asheboro a little ahead of the RX8s.

and after a quick pit stop we drove out to the NC Zoo and parked in the NA parking area,

And guess what we found in the area we parked in, the long lost twin to Greg's vert, he wants some both for bookends.

and here is a sign we found upon arrival, special parking for Buses and RV's, that stands for Rotary Vehicles!

Next, the real animals . . .

Once leaving the RV parking area we stepped into the wilds of the North American wilderness:
a shady alligator was the first visit we made

we all then made it to the seal exhibit, and watched some pretty talented aquabats show their stuff, they made swimming look so easy

then it was on to the Polar Bears

I called this one White Bears Can't Jump

The next stop for me was the Grizzlies,

I call this one Grizzly Encounter,

and the final stop in the North American side of the Zoo was the Elk pasture

next stop was Africa . . .

The Aviary was the first stop in the African Exhibits, but on the way in you pass the yard art convention, better know as a flamingo flock,

The birds and flowers in the aviary were beyond description, here are 3000 words in pics,

After the Aviary the next stop was the lowland Gorillas!

Then on to the elephants,

admiring Cindy is no different than admiring the beauty of a flower, the quiet confidence of the Lowland Silver back Gorilla, the joy of a swimming seal, or the sexy lines and power of an RX7, RX8 or a beautiful woman. An old man once said that "the quest of youth begins at 40. It is only then that we realize what we've had and so easily let slip out of our grasp". The truly degenerate thing is to covet something we so carelessly wasted when we had it and spend our remaining years trying to capture what we cannot possibly possess.

To live a great life, everyone should spend some time acknowledging the unexpected beauty we encounter in life, after all learning and growth can only happen when we are willing to reach beyond the world we exist in to the world we live in.
