Road Atlanta track day in August?...
Soo, apparently there's a NASA track day (HPDE, etc) in August...
I suppose if I could scrounge up ~450 bucks (and put another 400 miles on my car, although that obviously wouldn't be a problem if I went!) I would consider going... assuming I could get about 4 days off work.
Any thoughts, ideas, opinions, etc, about the August track day?
If I wanted to go, could I actually get ready for it in a month?
(or is it already full?)

Yeah, I'd spend at least 80 bucks in gas, plus food, and I'd probably end up camping...
And the day afterward, I'd be moving into my new apartment at school.

Man, I reaaaally want to go... but 3 weeks pay is kind of... a lot.
I'd be sooo pissed off if I ran into mechanical troubles that kept me from being able to drive (ie, hesitations, overheating, etc), though... so I guess going without a sorted car is kind of a gamble.

Get your car sorted out before you go, you'll be glad you did. I did the March event last year but I missed half the day Sunday when a boost control hose blew off on my FD (which I thought was ready for the track).
I haven't run in August just because it's so hot. Make sure you read the car prep advice on the NASA web site and follow it.
Have Fun!

A track day at Road Atlanta, first time or not, is way more fun then Little Talledega. Hit 150 on the back straight not even going WOT and you'll be wanting to go back again With the NASA instructors on board, you actually learn something and also during the classes inbetween runs as well. I was going to this one and hoped to take the wife in her RX-8, but it's the same weekend as our trip to Florida. It's worth the money for the experience and fun you'll have.

I was there this weekend for a SCCA thing. That track is a lot of fun. Little tally has nothing on it except it is safer for a less experienced driver. I'll probably go again in October. If you can get out there, I recommend it.
