What's the back story on the cop pulled over with all the 3rd gens?

 

Tom (the one pulled over, Jack (had the white RX7 and a MB at the time), and I were heading to Jax for a rotary meet. Well in those back roads to I-10 the speed limit goes from 65 to 55 to 45 very quickly. I was in the lead and going slow as usual. Well...speed demon Tom decides he had enough of that and passed Jack and I in a 45 mph zone. VERY quickly after, the police passed Jack and I.

So, we pulled over waiting for Tom and took pictures. LOL. Mythbuster: Old guys don't drive slower than younger guys...

 

LOL. Included it in there so we can all remember...

 

Soon, it will be 2 years ago that I sold my FD. I just don't see what would replace it. Wow, Eddie a Daddy. I think the last time I saw you was up here at a Dave & Buster's car meet. I still had my FD and you had sold yours. It would be cool, if we had a reunion. I still have a phone number for you in my cell, amazing.

I owned mine for 14 years, from new purchase. I do miss it.

 

Got to see Brian, Jon, Tom last night at Gainesville Raceway for a mini MRCCFL reunion. Jon still sporting the MRCCFL sticker in his back window...dedication

 

Hi Ron, how are you ? You probably don't remember me but I used to be in the MRCCFL before Ian came into the picture when Ken had his 89 red TII. I had a 89 GXL and little after that meet at Scott Neville's place. Its nice see a lot of you guys are still around. I have a 89 TII and active in this forum and a club in Central florida (Orlando/Kissimmee) see if you can make Old Town next year on a first Friday of the month, that;s when we show up there.

Hey Eddie. Good to hear from you. How's family life? How many of those guys are still driving rotaries. I'm sure Jon and Tom are still driving theirs. Where was Jack? Or did you just not want to admit you were hanging out with him

Jimmy, a couple of us here in Naples have talked about driving up to O town for one of those meets. We'll make it sooner or later.

Still driving the Cosmo and 2) 1st gens. I have a black RX-4 waiting for restoration. Sold the blue one, but got stiffed for $1500 of the payment. That's what I get for trusting people. I'm still active in the 1st gen section here.

Good to hear from you too. Family life is great but takes a lot of time from car stuffl. Jon and Tom are still in their sevens and so is Jack (yup still hanging with him as best I can). Was great to have a mini MRCCFL reunion. We DID have some good times despite the eventual outcome. I definitely met some great friends.

Brian Smith looks to move to Naples by mid next year. We have to get together...ALL of us for another trip, Sebring or something.

Stay in touch...true MRCCFL folks are still out there!

 

Ron, let me know when you guys are coming, so we can push for a bigger crowd from all over Fl, it would be nice. Nice to hear from you and the other guys.

Nice to see you guys are still out there!

I have still got several 7s. Im down to 4 now.
And actually sadly.. Only 2 are running.

The 91, and the ITA Race car.

Job changes, wife having knee replacements etc etc.. you all know how it goes.

I am getting myself back into things more and more.. my oldest is 15, and is all excited to drive, so I have been teaching him to drive the race car. Figure thats a good car to learn Stick on. If he can drive that.. he can drive anything.

AND... I still have my MRCCFL stickers on the windows of that, AND the 86. I sport them proudly at all the DGRR events.

 

AWESOME! MRCCFL is coming out of the woodwork. We're definitely gonna have to have some sort of reunion.

If we have a host site, I'll pay for food!!

 

Yeah! MRCCFL sticker people unite!!!

Good to hear from all of you, you know I'll make it if I can! That is if the RX-7 can handle another 4000 mile road trip. 215k on the clock now!

Yes, we definitely had a BLAST in Gainesville for the MRCCFL Hooligan 2009 meet

Still looks like Naples next summer for me so I'll be sure to pester the heck out of Ron and Ken!
