I plan on going to the zoom zoom live event 10/8 in Orlando. If the panhandle meet is a different weekend, I'll go.

Me and my wife are owners of a 94 FD. We are flying to Pensacola for a wedding this weekend and we were wondering if there are any car shows or events this weekend or hang out spots other than bars and clubs?

 

The Burger King on 9 Mile Road and Chemstrand always has a big turnout of hotrods on Saturday nights from about 4pm until 8 or 9pm. Mostly old school rides with TONS and TONS of money and time invested. There are a few imports that show up as the crowd of cars is slowly growing (200+ cars every Saturday is not uncommon)

For the import crowd, Bayfront is where everyone hangs out, but it's a big disappointment as none of the cars are fast. Mostly lambo-doored Hondas and stuff.

Make sure to give Dale Clark a shout when you're in town, I'm sure he'd be glad to chat with another FD owner. IIRC, his nae is dcfc3s on the forum, but he may have changed it.

 

Any date set yet? Almost any weekend in Oct is good but the week of the 17-22... I have midterms.. and I'm sure that there are a few others that do too.. Maybe at a different time? Or has everyone lost interest in trying to organize this?

Ok apparently the people who were trying to plan this are having some issues...
So I was wondering if someone who knows the city better then me could help try and set up a date and place. Because I still want to do something since the weather is so nice right now. And how many people are still interested in comming out. I know that the weekend of the 22nd of October will be out since I will be back in Jacksonville taking Midterms. We could do it on the 29th if noone has any objections. Just someone let me know and we can hopefully get things going with this.

Well When I PM'd him he said he was really busy trying to move... well so am I.. but afterwards I want to set something up to meet everyone from the area... since they were already gonna do it I thought that was cool... but with him being so busy too.. I thought maybe if he had some help that it'll either show him that more people are interested then he thought ... or he can help someone else try to set it up without having the full burdon of it. I know it's hard to set something up with alot of people.. so I thought I would throw my car in the hat to help...

 

my wife and i are always in and out of town with work so i wouldn't be much help with planning. hope everything works out and this meet becomes a reality. just keep us posted on the progress zzeeexlover.

 

hey DVS i've seen your rx7 a couple times around town. i'm a local here in pc too. should be getting an FD within the next couple months. where's everyone elses rx7 in pc? i never see you guys!

Ok just wondering when would be a good time for everyone? And does anyone who has been here longer then a week (ie ME!!) know where a good place to meet would be?

I was *thinking* (yes this is a dangerous thing for me to do sometimes) that maybe sometime durring the weekend of the 29th or 30th would be good. But that's cause I'm fixing to have to go back to Jacksonville to take my midterms this next week till the 22nd.. and that wouldn't give much time to plan.. but the 29th and 30th are a little way out... so that would be better... Unless of course November 5th or 6th is better for everyone.

So if anyone has ideas on places or dates.... post here or PM me!!! I need to know if we're actually gonna try and pull this off.

Ok so it looks like Nov 5th is better then... Doesn't matter as long as it's not next weekend for me. I still need sugestions on where to meet. If noone chimes in then I'm just gonna assume that everyone is ok with meeting at a chinese food place called Ever Green on 77 between 231 and 23rd street. So speak now damn it!

Hey all, it was originally me and DVS that had tried to start it. Got caught up in stuff and couldn't check back with this post. Sorry for leaving everyone guessin'. Originally, was going to be set up at Hooters on panama city beach. Not sure I can make this event at this point.

 

Sorry, I hadn't read the whole post in a while. Hooters is fine with me too. I don't care... just trying to see if we can actually get this thing going or not. I know that the original poster DVS is in the process of trying to move, as I just moved here I know how hard that can be. If you guys don't want to do this then let me know and I will stop posting here on the thread so it will finially die... but me personally I would like to have a get together of some point with everyone from the area, since I am new and know NOONE!!!
