And once again Supra forums meet put RX meets to shame (FL PEEPS)

I said this last year around this time and Im saying it again now. WHY THE HELL CANT WE DO SOMETHING LIKE THIS?!?!?

http://supraforums.com/forum/showthread.php?t=368215

I mean its not that hard, and from all the "big meets" ive seen posted about this summer in the SE section I have to say im dissapointed with the turn outs. Its sad when an RX owner would rather go to a Supra meet then an RX meet.

SO, that being said I think I wanna put something together for an end of summer meet. Something that everyone can look forward too. Im thinking doing the track thing on Friday night, and a dyno day on saturday. IF its ok with everyone Id like to try and contact Nero at Titan to see if we can use the dyno and facilities for that saturday. If we cant do that then I Have a Friend who owns a mobile Dyno jet that we could setup pretty much anywhere that we are allowed. If a Dyno just isnt ment to be then I recomend Race Rock like last years big meet for our saturday afternoon festivities.

ok now before I go talk to anyone about the dynoing and whatnot I need to know that this thing is gonna be big, and isnt gonna turn into a 10 car meet. I need to know that people are gonna come and make this RX7 meet something to remember and made better each year. so lemme know what you think so I can move this from any idea into THE BEST MEET OF 2006!

Post some more information for those of us not familiar with Titan Motorsport's location. We talking mid Fla, South, North?

Maybe it's because their cars run a bigger portion of the time. I know I miss a lot of "big" meets due to car problems. It's one of the reasons I am going LS1, but after that I won't be invited to RX7 meets LOL.

Also, save your pennies and come with us to the Gap this next April. I'd like to see your car, after you transformed it, haven't seen it since you left Norf Cackalacky

Well considering that Supras are fukn expensive *** *** cars, I assume they have more money than we do to invest in meets and cars. The rotary is a poor mans racecar...thats good enough for me. (Not only that but Supras blow less motors..so more cars show up to their meets) Who gives a **** though man, they cant say they drive something as unique as a rotary.

All it takes is organization. When I moved to Cali I started up NorCal 7's. Jan '05 was our first meet and we had 8 cars in attendance. And here we are a year and a half later. Our normal monthly meets average 30 or so cars. Any BBQ event we hold, which is about every other month or so, averages 60 cars. And Rotary Fest that we held in June had 112 cars there. So it's simply a matter of organizing and getting the word out. Best of luck in getting a big SE meet together.

Yeah, I was at the Supra meet last weekend too. I'm in Orlando I'd definitely be in if you guys don't mind a non-rotary RX7 I'd kind of like to get this thing dynoed too.

By the way, where do you Orlando guys go for alignments?

You want a large Rotary gathering in SE??

DGRR 2007 - I'm hoping to have 200+ cars.

This year (DGRR2006) I had over 120 cars signed up. But due to the weather, only 70 or so cars showed up (100+ people). And it was awesome to see REPU's, RX3, and 50+ 7's and 8's go thru 318 turns

Far as I know, DGRR is one of the largest rotary gathering in SE.
Its also FREE and its not about just standing around and looking at car kind of an event..

Herblenny has a point. DGRR is the best rotary meet on the East Coast, not just the SE. It's always very well organized and has been a great time from what several of my friends told me. I wish it would've been happening before I moved out of SC. But I think I might try to fly out and ride along with 20B10AE this coming year.

Thanks for the offer herblenny. If I can get out there I will take you up on that. We'll see how money looks closer to the event.

RoostedRex, You are also welcome to spend the night at my house. I have a spare bedroom and I'll also introduce you to some local rotary guru's.

TII-aholic,

We also have a fairly big meeting on 8/12 called RBQ. The event will be at VIR. Check it out: http://www.msccnc.org/
