Old Skool Japanese car meet in Atlanta, Sat, Aug, 16
Old Skool Japanese car meet in Atlanta, Sat, Aug, 16
This time, No dirt roads, paved parking, and grills for a small nominal entry fee. (like $4.00 or less. Ft Yargo charges a day use fee)
This will be our second, all Japanese, Old Skool meet this summer. We plan on getting things started, at 3:00, at Fort Yargo park, on Saturday, August 16. I'm going to try to reserve a picnic pavillion for shelter, and cooking out.
At this event, we are going to try to do some really nice photos, and document the Old Skool cars out and about in our area. Also we want to discuss getting together some O/S cars to hit Nopi and tunerfest in September.
So get your brakes fixed, rebuild your carb, and get a tag for your ride, if it's not ready We have a month and a half to get our rides on the road. Lets make it BIG. We had 43 cars at the Dam Old Skool Meet, and I can see 70 cars at this one, if everyone from the last meet comes out!
Hope to see you there! Dave
here are some photos from Buford Dam, and a link to the new thread.

About the food...Bring what you want to eat, or bring hotdogs, hamburger meat, chips or something to throw in, and I'm sure we can get the food cooked. I don't mind cooking, but there is no way to know how many people are coming, and how much food we need. If, you don't have the cash to pitch in on some grub, I don't think you would go home hungry.

What's up Aws40, I hope you come out to the meet. At the last meet I think 5 1st gen Rx7's showed. Also If you need any parts for your 79, I have a couple of 79's for parts.
I see you live in Oakwood, I live in Gainesville. I guess we're almost neighbors!

This is great. I hope all of you guys come out. I think that it's getting more important for all of us driving O/S cars to be able to meet each other, be able to swap #'s and talk about who has what parts. All of our cars from rotories to datsuns and toyotas are getting hard to find replacement parts. It's also hard to find shops or individuals that specialize in our type of cars.
If you can make it to the meet come on out, It's still looking like about 70 cars, and if anyone wants they can meet up at our shop and cruise out together. We did this at the Dam O/S meet, and it was cool. We had 2, 1st gen 7's, the Rx3, the Gts Corolla, a 77 Celica, a 78 celica, a Starion, and a 510 all ride out together. Riding with all of those cars at one time was as much fun as the meet.

If any one wants to ride out to Ft. Yargo this saturday, PM or call me (404-587-5590) we've got a few cars together to ride from our shop to ft yargo. Abunch of cars from Import Atlanta will be a yargo so we wanted to see the park in action. So if anyone can't go on the 16th of august, ride with us next saturday at 3:00 pm.
If you want to caravan to the meet, you can come by our shop around 2:00 we should have about 10 cars riding to Ft Yargo on the 16th.
Come on out and check out the cars! Hit me up, if your looking for an old skool jap car. We usually have some projects, and finished cars for sale. We gotta nice turbo corolla GTS hatch for sale right now. It has a complete nice repaint , and the engine has been gone through. It also has a new T25 turbo, and it has a large port head, with a 4agze (supercharged) bottom end.

I'll be the fat, bald guy, with a weird beard! So, holla if you see me.
Oh yeah, Roland, the guy with the Rx-3, at the last meet, has a Re/Pu for sale. I haven't seen it yet, but it's priced reasonable. Lemme know, if you need some info to get in touch with him.
"A few of us Ol'skoolers went out to Ft. Yargo Saturday. we went to check out a Gwinett/Athens area meet, and to see how a large car meet would work out at the park. We rolled in with like 15 cars, and only 6 cars were at the meet we were "crashing." We got our grill on, our eat on and our BS on. The weather might not have been great, and the Athens people were not the friendliest bunch, but it turned out to be a really fun afternoon. The best part was the drive from the shop through downtown Winder. 15 OG cars riding in a line through traffic. FTW. And Franco bustin' a sick drift across a busy intersection in a AE86!
Thanks David, Ken, Brandi, and Shane for helping out at the shop, and driving all the way from Paulding county! Thanks, Altimacharlie, for bringing that coolass B210 all the way from Mableton. Thanks, Ashley and Aden, for bringing the celicas out, and taking the photos. Thanks, to Chava, for bringing out the whole Rx 7 rotory crew (the 7's were out in #'s today) And last, but not least ,thanks to JR, for bringing out the Gainesville guys. Oh, Yeah...Thanks Will for representig Dekalb Co. and for wearing the only ZERO T-shirt!!! Good looking out!
This was a stong showing for just a few days notice. About 3 weeks to go for the next Old Skool Meet. SATURDAY, AUGUST, 16 3:00pm. I'll post directions for where to go inside Ft Yargo. As soon as we decide which part of the park we are going to meet in.
Thanks again, for supporting the Atlanta area old skool Japanese car scene. See y'all in a few weeks.
Dave Wilson.
