Yeah James, it's heavy. I think the artist filled the rotors and coolant passages with lead.

But the weight has some advantages, I don't need to worry about it getting stolen.

Greg, you should have replaced your FB windshield yourself, you'd still have your trim piece.

I would never trust some goons in a windshield shop to work on my FB.

Guaranteed trouble, hope it doesn't leak.

Anyway, I should have the trim piece, please send a picture of what you're missing.

And yes, there's always an OGTA meeting first Tuesday of the month.

A chain unbroken since August 7, 2007.

Ray, It's the piece that goes across the top of the windshield. Not sure how to keep it on. Other than that the guy did a good job. I had clients breathing down my neck, so I didn't have time.

Where are you guys meeting these days?

Employment is the Good News! Other folks aren't so lucky these days.

There are actually three different trim pieces running across the top of the windshield.

Two long pieces, left and right, and another short connector piece in the middle.

The long pieces have thin rubber seals that are easily damaged when removed and installed.

Not to mention damage to the metal pieces themselves if they aren't handled with care.

And are the plastic clips that hold the trim pieces in place properly installed and not broken?

If not this probably has something to do with why your trim is gone.

And new trim pieces won't help the situation.

If they lost or damaged all three trim pieces, you are due a significant refund from the installer.

Locating and buying these parts wouldn't be easy or cheap, I'd guess $50 if you can find them, another $50 to install.

Are you sure the trim pieces are not back in the shop?

You should at least let them know there's a problem with their work.

If they can't fix it then they owe you an apology; compensation would be better and I'd insist on it.

Anyway, I have these if you need them, but they're near unobtanium parts, especially in decent condition.

Depleting this supply so some sloppy glass shop can make money off their incompetence kind of pisses me off.

Fixing other people's incompetence only perpetuates more incompetence.

Could you let us know who did the work?

I lost all three sections. **** happens at eighty miles per hour.
Auto Glass Now of Tucker did the work. They were re3fered to me by a long time fried and trusted mechanic.

Frustrating and Annoying!

Well mistakes happen but a responsible shop will fix their mistakes.

The clips look good on the top picture and on the inside clip for the bottom picture, but the top edge of the outside clip is broken off.

Also there should be a total of 6 clips across the top, three on each side. It looks like your inside ones might be missing.

https://www.mazdatrix.com/?s=windshield

Part number for the clips is PCK46284, if you can find them.

Try searching ebay for "RX-7 windshield clips", there's some listed for the 626 that look to be the same.

But if I were you I'd let the professionals who replaced your windshield find them for you.

Along with those two $100 trim pieces that run across the top (the middle piece is only $20).

They sell the clips new on ebay for like $20; I replaced mine about 3 years ago. I'll see if I can get a link for you.

EDIT: I've seen them cheaper but these work

Wow, what a sight! I think that front suspension will need a little more work at some point :-)

Can't wait to get it home and start throwing FC parts at it!

Careful with the FC parts Brett, a lot of them were made from lead and will melt if the engine overheats.

And yeah, that passenger's side strut needs some work.

You need to start by washing the dog **** and pine needles off the top of the tire.

there's another thread someone posted on here on that collection. i knew about it back when, i think his last name is gilbert, shared a post on FB about it. i always knew one day something like this would pop up. too bad all this is so far away and would be too costly for me to even think of trying to get even one of these.

I can't thank you enough Ray! We made it home safe and sound, got it unloaded just a little while ago. Time to dig in!

If anyone has a 4 port 13B for sale, I'm thinking that might be an easier route than the FC stuff I'd planned to use.

FC stuff with a FB front cover should work fine. Your coolant seals will be in all the wrong places, but nobody will ever know
