October meet SCRX-7

Ok guys. Might as well get this thread started. Assuming we're going in order, this month's meet is due to be in Columbia this time around.

I'd like to get the date nailed down as early as possible for planning purposes. I'll know my schedule for the month in the next day or two as I'm starting a new job on Tuesday.

One possible plan is to have the meet at the Lake Murray dam. There is a decent amount of parking there, the lake makes a good backdrop for photos, and there is an area that we can use for a cookout. Cost for parking is minimal (about $3.00 I believe).

I'll see if there is anything else we could do for entertainment.

Reese

Right on! The Dam does sound good. Not sure how everyone feels about it but would having it on a Sunday be a bad idea? Those are more likely for me to have off than Saturdays. I know for a fact right now if its on a Saturday that I won't be able to make it.

Just throwing it out there. It's all on what everyone wants tho. I won't have my feelings hurt. lol. But I'll still try and see if I can have whatever day off.

Attention Kenneth.

It has come to my knowledge through the grapevine, to inform you of something you must stop doing.
I'm hearing tales of you going by Jamin's house trying to see if he is home when he is not.
This seems to happen daily.
Sometime many times a day.
Sources tell me that it borderlines stalking.
One of these days someone is going to call the cops on you.
So for your well being,
Stop!
Stop going by Jamin's house.

If we bring our own burgers, etc it would save on us having to try to get a restaurant with enough space for all of us. A restaurant would be quicker and easier for getting food and cleaning up though.

Do we have any volunteers to help clean up if we go that route? I will but I'm not going to do it all myself.

As for pictures, I think Allen could take some awesome pics out by the dam as well as a couple of other spots I can think of.

In response to the situation brought up by Toby. I've dealt with that type of situation before, so here is my input whether it is as bad as mentioned or not.

Realize that people work. Some of us have jobs that run us for 12+ hours a day and when we get home, the only thing on our minds is relaxing. Not problem solving, not running out and working on cars, or whatever. It's not that we are ********. It's not that we don't give a damn about helping fellow rotorheads or anyone else for that matter. We simply need our down time.

Constantly badgering, waiting around for us to get home, etc will accomplish one thing. Pissing us off. If you're lucky, you'll simply get ignored or verbally beaten down. If you catch someone on a really bad day... you can imagine how bad it could be.

NOTE: I'm not picking on Kenneth when I say you in the above text. That text is simply a way to try to explain WHY you might not be hearing back from people as quickly as you might like. PLEASE BE CONSIDERATE!!

Reese, in response to your text when I was driving. haha. But my camera can shoot the following sizes:

3872 x 2592
2896 x 1944
1936 x 1296

@ 10.2 mega pixels!... that should be plenty to provide you with REALLY large blown up shots from a photo processor. If you know anyone who does this, lemme know man.

I always down-size my photos but can keep some originals next time I have shots of your car, shots of the meets, etc. Just in case you want the original sizes.

BTW: Check this out fellas!!! Check the photo creds

It's really great to see your name in a mag! Keep it up and you can remember us when you go big time. LOL. Great photos!

I'll let you know what I find for blowing up pics. You're right. Those resolutions should yield awesome enlargements.

Later,

Reese

OK. Since no one has any input, the meet will be on October 5. That is the first Sunday of the month. Current plans will be to grab a bite to eat at a local restaurant in the Harbison area and then head out to the lake for photos and BSing.

This way there won't be any cleanup, so no one has to do any extra work. The early weekend also makes the Blue Ridge Run more accessible for people that want to attend both.

The schedule is currently:

Noon to 2pm Show up in Columbia for lunch.
2:15 Start heading up to Lake Murray for photos/ hanging out
5pm If anyone wants other photo opportunities, we could head downtown to the Tunnel Vision mural among other places. The attached picture is the Tunnel Vision mural.

*** Bring swim trunks if you want to swim at the lake ***

Add your name to the list if you're going to show.

2. Nicole
3. Lori
4. Bryan

It's down near Baptist Hospital. Same parking lot as that God awful fire hydrant. Here is a shot of my car today up there.

Really sorry it is unknown right now and locked down. But its seriously like we work 7 days a week sometime and others we work 5. I will have to play it by ear and hope for the best to make it. Sounds like a badass time for sure. X's fingers.
