Newbie Here

I just bought this car...

https://www.rx7club.com/forum/showth...8&page=1&pp=15

I flew to Baltimore Friday night. With delayed flights and an hour drive to Tom's house (super nice guy), I did not get on the road until after 11pm. I tried several hotels in the area but they were all booked, so I just drove all night. I got the the Dragon about 11am on Saturday and rode it several times, then spent the night in Gatlinburg with friends. Then got up and drove home today. I drove it a little over 1000 miles in the first two days I owned it. I guess we know each other pretty well!

It is my fourth RX-7 but I never worked on the first three. I just added oil and gas and drove the heck out of them. 10 years later I really enjoy maintaining my cars and motorcycles, and I hope to learn a lot from you guys.

I look forward to meeting some of you on the 30th.

-Rick

Glad you made it home safe! (and BTW- that's a hell of a nice 1st gen you got there )

I wish my stable had room to keep it, and the road to my house not so rough so as not to beat the **** out of it.

I think you will have many, many years of enjoyment with it.

Remember- Wix filters, watch the fuel pressure and feed her a subtle diet of MMO per tank (maybe 4-6 ozs per tank).

If you need anything- just give me a ring!

Thanks!

The dragon was cool. I have ridden it several times on my motorcycle, and I think it was more fun in a car. I like 28 toward Bryson City better though.

Thanks and Damn right it is! It was funny to watch folks reaction on my way home. I really think that some folks don't know what it is! I had three different people come up to me and ask me about it. Of course the car is probably older than they were!

"diet of MMO per tank "
There you go with the abbreviations again! I ran around 40 gallons of gas through her... (oops HIM) and that gives me an over all average of 25 mpg which I am very pleased with.

Marvel Mystery Oil (or a good 2 stroke oil will do).

25mpg? You must not have been on the secondaries much!

Very Little. On the interestate I could cruise at any speed and not activate them, and I only drove aggressively on Deals gap and 28. Wow it sounds good when you get into them though!

Whenever, Rick. If you want to hear some secondary action, I'll let the 13B bridge-port/Holley talk to you about that. I'm glad that you are happy with the car. I look forward to seeing it soon.

I think the rear breaks loose before the front (I like) and does so in a predictable fashion. These are good things. I think I will leave it off.
