My new Camera!!!

Today was a great day!

cruised over to Best Buy and purchased my new Sony Cybershot DSC-H9.

-Camera $490
-2GB card $50
-Carrying case $14
-2 year warranty $50

= $625 after tax.

I am really excited about this thing b/c there is so much adjustment to play around with. I haven't even had a chance to mess w/ it that much and I am already stoked. Very clean pictures and crisp to.

these are on the low setting, un-edited, and just the shots I took right when I got it.

Few months ago I bought a Panasonic Lumix DMC-FZ50. Pretty kick *** camera. Probably one of the best digital cameras you can get that is not an SLR.

But the damn thing is hard to use with all the options. I think I am just gonna sell it and get a cheap point-and-shoot camera.

lol

I don't know much about that camera... But what I've noticed is the lenses more than anything else. I have Nikon D80 and comparison between my $700 lens vs $300 is noticeably different. I've heard some of the Sony's come with Zeiss lens? did this come with that? I'm about to buy another lens for my camera and its going to be another $700 purchase.... Photography is as bad as car.

Herblenny flaunting the old "I have a D80 w/ a million lenses". haha. but I couldn't afford a D80 as bad as I want one. So this is right in my alley. Yeah this H9 does have the Carl Zeiss lens.

^the flower picture (shot w/ an H9?)

LOL! Not really flaunting.. Just letting you know what I have.. to give perspective. Personally, D80 is OK. If I were to go all out, I would like to pick up a full frame camera. Maybe someday..

Cool! Those Zeiss lenses are nice! In my field, Zeiss vs Olympus, there is about $100K difference just because of the lenses... I have a friend who recently sold all his camera equipment so that he could switch to Sony because of Zeiss lenses.. he said Sony is coming out with something really soon..

I have a Nikon D2H, and using Nikkor 70-300mm f/4-5.6D lenses along with a 28 - 80 micro lense... and I must say it takes very clean shots but your new camera takes very clean and I would have to say much better shots! Maybe it's my lenses, but either way you got a very good camera / lens combination there! Congrats on the purchase, very good buy!

Hey Gianny, Did you update your firmware on your camera?? It wouldn't really affect the image but just thoght I mention it to you.

I personally think the lenses do wonders. Never really thought that before but when you do side by side comparison, it really does make a difference.
