My 89 RX7 N/A
hey guys heres some pics of my current project on my rx7. to the upstate people, it also explains why im not making it to the upstate meet for once (i finally got a legible excuse this time!)
anyway...here goes...
and...
^ my hood had some chips and paint was chipping off in the areas clearly marked.
basically the headlights have paint on them (the intended color)...but theyre still gritty so im going in between wetsanding them, re-priming and repainting them. more pics to come. id take pics of my air box setup...but ive masked around where u lift the hood, so for my other thread...sorry people.

Day 1: After putting a little less than 3 hrs of work, i managed to get the dips out of the hood, as well as chips. finished up on the sides, need to take out the rubber pieces near the headlights and sand that down to the bare metal, then i should be done, and ready to prep, primer and paint a base coat on the hood. :-)

more pics but of the edges which im focusing on...
here are some more pictures, of me trying to sand down the edges to the bare metal, because a number of paint is chipping on the edges, and id like to start fresh.
^ passenger side
^ still passenger side, but closer to the door now, away from hood
^ after removing the rubber pieces which surround the headlights
^ u can see the bare metal
^ edge of hood again but i thought it was like a sword.
any suggestions? comments? constructive criticism?

light coat of priner...yes i know its uneven...thank u
here are some pics i took, only spent around an hour sanding the edges and priming the car. i messed up some of the edges, sanding down too much
here's pics anyways. yea i know its uneven, but its my first coat...which im going to sand. i just wanted to cover the bare metal with something, and too see how it would look.
comments, suggestions, are cool.

hey guys, been busy with graduation and final exam business, so its been a week since i last messed with it. i decided to scuff up the driver's side fender, because theres little rust (if any at all). my other fender has paint chipping, among other things. um and theres a surprise at the end. sucks for me tho.
so basically i was working on the sills cuz they look like **** rust orange. i hit it with 220 grit to get down to the bare metal. but idono what is going to happen to the rubber that surrounds this? was the rubber meant to cover them, and not let moisture into the cabin area?
call it stupidity, but i don't know how i didn't see this...
^ i always keep my lugs tight with the use of a proper lug wrench. but...i just dont see how this happened. i knew something felt weird when i was driving fast and the car felt like it needed an alignment...BAD. but um, the threads dont seem to be stripped, so i mean i dont know how they came off.
