That Donald's was pretty cool, me liked it. Now they need a coffee bar.

Did you like that pass Collin? And that was climbing uphill.

I got to drive an FC today! The boss let me drive the 1985 pre-production (series 4) RX-7 to the post office today. One of a kind car! Pretty Sweet.

Yeah that FD definitely slowed things down, we'll put him at the end next time.

Hey I got to hand it to that Holly, she probably knows more about rotaries than all rest of us combined. Not only was she flying down that curvy mountain road without brakes, she diagnosed my exhaust problem along the way.

Holly that change in exhaust note you mentioned, which I dismissed, turned out to be the nuts bolting my race pipe to the header - they were starting to back off.

On the way in to work this morning it got much louder. Pretty noisy drive down through Gwinnett, I'm glad I didn't run into my favorite buddy Gwinnett patrolman this time.

After letting it cool down in the lot for an hour, I went back out and took a look under the car. Sure enough the nuts were turned half way off. I finger tightened them, should get me home so I can put a wrench on them.

Holly next time I will listen and believe everything you say.

Thanks Ray. See, I'm not 100% dumb blonde. Just when I want to be. No brakes is one of the reasons I like a manual transmission... much more control in all situations.

Zach you Freekin Idiot I do not have an automatic in the daily zoom zoom. It is a 5 speed manual tranny. Thank YOU! And I have tried to edit the sig and it gives me some dumb message that the sig is too long, even though it is shorter, so it will not accept my edit. I try to remember not to let it auto add the sig. But, I'm a dumb blonde that always owns a manual tranny. AND I owned that 3rd gen in my avitar for over 13 years, it is MY avitar and I will keep it for as long as I please.

Zach, you better behave yourself, or I will be kickin yo *** the next time I see you.

Awww... be easy on Holly, I'm sure she misses her baby. I know its not the same Holly but feel free to stop by and take my FD for a spin whenever you need to. And Holly you can even use the both of the turbos when you take her out .

This trip sounds like it was a lot of fun. I am really sorry I missed it. I will definately be down for the next one (rotary gods willing)!

Aww thanks Chard. Hey guys, so you heard Chard, the next mountain run, I'm ridin with Chard and driving some. Sorry Ray, I like some boost in the uphill curves. Hmm, I could drive Chard's uphill and Ray's, with no brakes, downhill

Hey Ray, did the tightening of the bolts, quiet your 12A? And don't forget the brake pads before the next run.

The dude with the FD (Tim?) needs to learn how to be a pack leader when you're dealing with multiple hairpins. I came mighty close to poor Zach's rear bumper a few times!
I was trying to keep good distance but my cornering speed average was a tad higher, I think.

Zach... You, Brett and myself need to attend an autocross at some point. I'd also be interested to see how Holly fairs in the Mazda3 between the orange bumper murderers! Three FCs and the sporty econobox (Yes, Mazda3 earned that title, thanks!).

May 1-4, there is an event going on at Road Atlanta. If our club exceeds more than twenty members, who would all absolutely HAVE to show up, we could do parade laps around the track! Unfortunately, I do not believe that we could organize something so precise as us rotary mixed group seem to have an issue with such things. :-P

Anyways, just one of my random updates: I went to pull-a-part in Norcross today and purchased a new bumper cover (That was a COMPLETE bitch to put on), a new driver's side sunroof mechanism and a 14" Phone Dial wheel complete with dry-rotted tire for Brett's birthday present. Now, if someone has ANY freakin' clue as to how I can attach the new support arm onto my existing sunroof track...that'd be great...because I literally ripped it off the sunroof assembly after about twenty minutes of cursing and cut knuckles trying to just get the arm out.

Yes it's much quieter and much faster now, thanks Holly. I didn't even have to jack up the car, just reached under there and gave the nuts a couple cranks with a ratchet.

You gotta love a car that's this easy to work on and doesn't need turbos to keep up with the mini vans and mega brakes to stop all that lard they put on the FCs and FDs.

Trey we are used to Atlanta traffic down here, it makes those hair pins seem pretty tame.

Whoops I mean Tray.

Don't bash Tray so much or he won't show us all the cool twisties he knows out there in the woods (or sticks as Ray refers to em).

Its all good, I wish I had gone on the drive but I really suspect my 15 year old tires are about shot. I'll have new ones next time.

lmao, I'm not 'bashing' Tray at all! Just confused...I was seriously expecting him to fly like he was on something!

Ooh, I've got a great idea. Tray needs to bring the black FD again...and we'll swap for an hour.

On a side note, we ALL REALLY NEED TO BUY 2-WAY RADIOS NEXT TIME!

actually in my original draft of my reply to you, i commented about being that it was a meet, i didn't want to get the pack spread out. we had a car at the last SC meet that wasn't keeping the pace on the drive and missed a turn off...we finally heard from him a few days later on the forum...he was up from Columbia, SC and ended up having a solo trip in WNC.

Also, to "defend" myself even more...I didn't know you guys and gals...didn't know your driving skillz...didn't know if you would try to keep up if i started going a pace you nor ur car could handle...didn't know if you could out drive me. I didn't want to take the chance of someone ending up off the side of a mountain because they thought they could keep up...I'm not saying my FD is all mighty and can out handle anything, I know it can't...Allen (rotarybeat) has handed my FD its *** several times in his old n/a, worn out red FC!

I offer to anyone to get up with me on nearly any weekend and i'll take you out to some roads and we shall keep a decent pace...after i split from you guys, i ended up taking 215 back to Waynesville (30 mi, 5000 ft elevation change, 15 mph curves), then took NC 63 -> NC209 -> Hot Springs then finally home...total of about 250 miles from when i put gas in my car in arden that morning!
