FL Just a thought for the next Jax Meet...

This past meet was awesome. But there is something I noticed. We all bought food, and while the food was great, there wasn't a big actual "meal". We all just kinda got a plate and went on talking and looking, which was totaly cool. At the end there was alot of food left over.

I was just thinking that next meet, why don't we all just bring some snacks or a light lunch (sandwiches or something like that) and then after we meet up, we go on a cruise, say out to the beaches, down to JTB, over to the St Johns Town Center, maybe a nice run down 9A and up to Dave and Busters and on up through down town. We could stop and take pictures where ever and if people didn't meet up in time at the begining , they could join us along the way. They could call us and find out where we are and where we are heading. We don't have to follow a definate schedule, but stop for half an hour or an hour at different places of interests for fun, food, and pictures.

I just think it would be totaly awesome to have a group like we had last Saturday, or even bigger cruising into a whole bunch of different places.

What do you guys think??

Later,
Bill

I always thought a run down A1A would be cool. There's plenty of trashy Surf's Up Hotels north and south of Daytona, right on the beach. A little planning and you'd have yourself a helluva good meet. Cruise, park, party, crash, breakfast, cruise......

Sounds allot like a poker run (without the poker) and I'm all for driving these things LOL. The only draw back is keeping more than 5 cars together through city traffic.

Well when the lead car is a MB FD and cruises at over 150 and the last car in line is 28 years old, what do you expect?? LOL

That is why I was thinking more of a highway run with decided stops so that everyone could catch up. That way even if we get seperated, there will still be groups cruising together and at each stop we take over the parking lots. lol.

Maybe we could come up with a map of our cruise so that no one gets lost or turned around. I am thinking we should stay more around the city than going out of town (much as I would like to) just because it we went out of town, that would mean alot further distance to get home afterwards. If we make a circuit of the city, then the ride home would be close to the same as the ride in. I realise that alot of you guys are coming from out of town, this is why I think this way is better. For a couple of people the ride may be shorter but it would be twice as long for everyone else. I know that a long ride is great, but after the cruise when it is time to get home, everyone is feeling tired and wants to get home and rest.

An A1A cruise from Jax to Daytona would be cool, maybe a circuit, from Daytona to St Augustine, over to Gainesville back to Jax. That would be more of an all day cruise starting in the morning... Another cool idea.

I'm trying to think of some areas that are nice places to cruise. 9a has some nice stretches, Dave and Busters, St Johns Town Center, Argyle, Jax Beach, Hecksher Dr, etc.

The west side of Jacksonville has some backroads if we would like to cruise them, although not alot of twisties, just alot of countryside two lane roads.

Anyone else have anymore ideas?

Later,
Bill

Oh finally jax. is still alive xD !! Ive been busy lately and haven't spent much time on the forums and was about to post a thread but I guess you beat me to it =P

Ya +1 I'm all up for that Bill and as long as it's on a Saturday I'll be off too or I can have someone switch with me if we have a definite day . Only thing is I think I'll need to ride shotgun with someone since I'm rotary-less still for the next year lol.. maybe two because I'm actually thinking of saving up and getting an RX-8 since I need a DD and need it to travel between states and/or 300miles+
