Its a great idea! Thats why I ended up with an 8, usable back seats. Kind of a requirement with a seven year old. Plus it has the LATCH system for carseats, so he can put that new baby in it!

I've always been "one of you". Into rotaries longer than some people here have been alive...and yes...I am that old.

I'm going to suggest you go backwards and look at FCs.

May be an option...but it would have to be really clean and really reliable..especially if I'm hauling kiddos. Safety standards on the RX8 would be more up to par with what I need.

I suggest the FC because there are hardly any left. With the Fast/Furious nonsense and the drifting platforms we're losing them more and more. I can't find any 1991 Turbos for sale in the entire country anymore--very rare. We estimated there may be less than 50 of the 91 Turbos left. If we can find you a decent Series 5 Turbo we can always find you the 2+2 seats for the rear too for the kids. I take the kids out in the FC all the time--they love the autobelts ;D

BTW, I drove in an LS1 FD last week and it was fantastic. I'll never do it, but I can see why others do.

Eddie's boys are so potent I went for a sonogram for peace of mind after sharing a cabin with him at DGRR!

Edit: Typical Gainesville Crew thread derail.

I think he knocked up Tom and Jack and has hidden them away to raise his mutant children.

In the 6 years I have never went to a rotary meet. However I am really excited to attend one now. I like to come out if I don't have work that weekend. I will say my FC is a work in progress and I haven't had it for the last 2 years till about a month ago.

We're all excited. Our little community seems to be getting smaller and smaller, it takes some energy to keep everyone in touch and making sure everyone attends the meets. The introduction of the RX-8 added a lot of new blood, it will be interesting to see how things go if Mazda brings back the 7 or at least a new rotary.

the back seat can fit adults, at least more comfortable that my mustang. the only thing i didn't like about the 8 was the blind spot on the driver side.

Mazda is said to be working on lazer ignition for the next gen rotary. It maybe a rumor.

Apparently, I'm incredibly out of the loop.

You don't even have the V8 FD now either, Eddie?

Oh, well hell, that was only two days ago. I guess I didn't miss anything. Well, I've missed plenty, but it wasn't that.

So is it the 9th or the 3rd? I'll be there if I can convince my wife... and if I can get the infamous garage queen put back together and tuned properly in time.
