**I think we should try to keep this as inexpensive of an event as possible so money isn't the reason people cannot go. Perhaps each person bring a food item, IE, chips, hot dogs, buns, etc. This will help with a major part of costs.

 

Im in if costs are kept reasonable.

We can just have a picnic down in GA or something. What are some nice venues down there that we can gather? IE, scenic lakes with parking, etc??

No worries if we can't get it to be a track event!! Just a relaxing Saturday in July would be fun. It will be hot anyway, so I don't want to put anyone in a situation that they are pushing their engines too hard and can't make it home.

Not sure whether I'd be able to make it or not, but a cruise through historic Savannah would be nice (although I'd rather do historic Charleston, but that's just me...). Wherever it is, I believe a cruise to a meeting spot for a car show would be best, as it gives people a chance to see the sights, as well as be seen, and doesn't cost too much. A cookout would be nice, but hard to coordinate. Catering would take care of that, but then you'd have to charge everyone something.

Just some ideas. I don't want to get overly involved in this, as it's not my idea, plus I don't live near enough to central SE region to be able to coordinate things.

Time is running out, though. Someone needs to come up with something soon.

Make sure it's a cruise on nice roads that won't destroy teh 7. I know how historic districts can be lol.

 

I'll give this about another 2 and 1/2 weeks. If Savannah doesn't happen I'll organize something in Tallahassee, FL. I know it's not the BEST option, but it is somewhat central and I have a few ideas of stuff we can do.

 

tybee island a.k.a. savannah beach has a bit to see and plenty of sand to play in... there is about 15 miles or so of nice road to cruse between savannah and the beach... in the historic area we pretty much have the same things that charlston, sc has to offer (i.e. river street and city market)... nice night club scene, if you are into that... post up any other questions about the area and we will try to help as much as possible...

Posts: 389 Roebling Road can be rented if you'd like to put an event on there. Lot of insurance concerns with that though. It's a fantastic track for the RX-7. I can look into renting it, but it should be rented by the organization if possible. There is info on their website. Is this something the Region would like to look into? HOw many would attend?
