northern va is the only part that does emissions testing. You can probably find a guy that will allow you to slip him a $20 and you car will be emissions free =)

Fairfax sucks *** for emissions! I made a thread about this on the northeast forum I believe. Cops are strict, they pull you for anything.

Depending on where you live, you may not have any emissions testings at all. Where are you planning on moving to? If you end up moving to a place that has it, you could always find another Daily Driver and register your 7 as an antique vehicle... Next year...

It honestly doesn't matter how you drive. I've gotten an exhaust ticket there driving 30mph at 15000 rpms (2.5' HF cat, magnaflow dual tip). If they see anything thats even remotely aftermarket-looking you're getting screwed. Don't expect to DD your car there with no hassles...worse place to live, like ever. Theres speed traps everywhere, especially downhill roads where older people (like my dad) don't pay attention to speeds and get a ticket for doing 10 over Its really just a great place to live for old people. About the only thing I liked was being able to drive to WV (~1hr) and be peaceful for a while. Theres some nice roads in VA too in the Manassas/Dumbfries area. Its fun to see the dumbass cops flip their lights on when they see you hauling *** in the opposite direction like they're gonna do something argghh that place sucks.

You can get by with the emissions though as long as you pay a fee, just go to vadriven.com and search "emissions hookup" and PM people. Or just go to a local car meet and ask.
