Huntsville meet.

I am planning a dyno/ street tune in June with Brian Cain "BDC". It would be a good weekend to have a 7 gathering.. Any ideas? Who is in? I know we have a few new RX-7 owners in town. So lets get things going...

BDC came to the house for 6 days to tune cars ( how many ? to many ) every one was happy with the work that I know of . As for a gathering name a date so I can see if I am off that day . I hit Huntsville to eat out and the movies often .

Hus, you need to pick up a PFC so you can get a good street tune! I have interest from 2 guys in FL. I will also check with Steve Stover and see if he wants in but I need atleast 6-8 cars to make this happen. Anyone seen the red 94 fd for sale on North Parkway?

Although it would be nice to have as many as possible, I don't think Hus has the mods to warrant the purchase of a PFC. From what he has listed, the only power mods are an intake and catback which wouldn't require a tune and would perform just fine using the base map if he did decided to get a PFC.

Yeah, but will be adding items. He has already discussed his plans with the car to me... I am just giving a heads up because it sure sucks to have all the parts on and no one to tune it!!

Well, I'll see what I can do about the PFC. I would still like to attend even if I don't have a PFC yet. I do have plans with Jason at the RX7Store to do the Stage 2 mods, which as I'm sure you know includes a PFC. I'm basically looking for somewhere between the 330-340hp range for now because I do not plan on going to a single turbo for a while. Since my car has so little miles on it, I'll just ride it out with as many bolt-ons as I can until some blows...if and when something blows then I'll probably take that opp. to go to a single turbo setup, but for now I'm happy. Would like to see the 330+rwhp range though pretty soon. Let me know if you guys decide something definite cause like I said, I'd still like to attend even if I don't get tuned. -Brad

Brad, You will have no problem getting around 330 with bolt on's. Maybe up to 350 or so even. Full exhaust, intake, IC not a bad idea but stock one will do, boost control, better fuel pump and maybe some 1300's (injectors). Then I WOULD have Brian tune it for say 14-15psi. That should make you very happy! I agree with Don on the stock maps with just Intake and catback running stock boost but above that I would not take a chance.

Phil, I am pretty sure it will be June when Brian comes to tune. Heck if do not get everything done intime I might get him to come a day or so early and help me finish (paid of course). Do you need any tuning? Anyone else in B-ham? I will have the dyno reserved but I think most will be doing some street tuning. Also the drag strip is about 15 minutes away with test n tune I think Friday and Saturday nights. So anyone that wants to hang out and hit the track with me is cool.

Post your info if you are interested in a tune. Also let me know if you want any dyno time.

/\ I would definitely like to come over and go to the drag strip (to watch of course). I would drag but I'm still learning the mechanics of my FD and if it's one thing I learned from dragging two mustangs it's, don't drag something until you understand fully what is going on with your engine and you learn how to "talk" to it as it "talks" back to you I'm very interested in watching other FDs drag though. -Brad

i HAVE NOT SET AN OFFICAL date yet but it will be most likely the 17th or 24th of June.

Hey Brad, what about the guy "Doc" in Madison? Is his car modded? Maybe he may need a tune but either way the more cars that show up the better...

Test n tune is Friday night and Sunday morning. I think it's just bracket racing on Saturday night.

Mike,

If my blk FD runs by then, I might get it tuned by him.. I'm still waiting on quite a few parts so, I'm pretty sure I'm not going to be ready by then.. We'll see.

I believe the rate is still $350 for the tune. If you want dyno time that is extra. What I will do and anybody that is interested can do the same is have Brian street tune then go to the dyno for a few pulls and fine tuning. We could wait until everyone is done or even until the next day. I am going to street tune with pump gas and o2 myth/injection then 118 octane on the dyno.
No set date yet but the end of June sounds pretty good. if you guys (Don, Phil and Thomas1277) need a week or 2 extra let me know ahead of time but not last minute as Brian will need to book a ticket.

ouch! What are you doing to it? Well I would prefer to wait to tune in nice cool weather but I will need my car tuned no later than June-July... June really will be fine. My motor is just sitting next to my car waiting to go in. I just need to have my down pipe lengthened 2 inches and send off my midpipe for a muffler. Gonna try and quite down the noise! I will have a few small projects to do as install the upgraded primary rail w/850's and add another pump, install 02 injection.... but plan on doing that on the weekend between drives!!! But we all know how that goes. My biggest feet is getting this damn house finished. It just keeps going and going... Maybe 2 weeks and we will move in!!!

Sorry Mike, I must have skipped right over your post about "Doc" when I was reading this thread. I don't know anything about this guy but I'll PM him and see if he's modded up. I'll tell him to either let me know or send you a PM and post something in this thread.

Brad

PS- I looked back at the PM he sent me and just some FYI, his Forum name is "Doc-1" and he says he lives in Madison and has a 94 R2.

Thanks, Just PMed him.. Seems everyone besides you "Brad" is waiting on putting there car back together. The chance everyone will be done by June I think is slim! I really need to know I have 6-8 cars ready to be tuned in order to bring Brian in for tuning.
