If you read your own thread you are the only one here who has anything negative to say. So why don't you consider this issuse closed.

i've read over this thread a couple of times and he is not the only one that had a gripe.
and here's one more for you guys.
i only had a couplr of minor things done there like injectors, e-fan, intake filter.
BUT, a friend of mine here had some turbo and intercooler work done and it also smoked like the other one.
he was too expensive for what you get.
attitude seemed o.k.

there's nothing wrong with asking questions and trying to find out if there's something going on with the shop or owner.

seems like mazsport or scott has a couple of 'buddies' on here helping him out.

well, that's the second time that smoking has been brought up.
mine did it on the way back to the house with the car from mazsport at ~7200rpm and ~ 7-8lb of boost.
now at 10lb of boost it is almost a certainty at 7000rpm??? it never did it so much before.and it is quite a bit now when it does it.
it's not too bad if the car has been ran for a while before this.
plus, i have no emissions anymore so there will always be a little smoke.

I've never had anything done by Scott but I went to him for info and possible future work under the advice of PianoProdigy. I spoke a great deal with Scott about PFC's and tuning, etc and he weas very helpful and offered a lot of advice. He was more than willing to tell me as much as I wanted to know but he didnt want to take too much time away from his business in-house.

He is definately a nice guy and PP's car speaks highly for his work but beyond that I dont know. Ben's car popped but I myself still dont know the details of the car's mods, how it was driven or if he even broke it in properly... not to discredit him but I never saw his car just the same as I never saw Scott's work.

here's a private message that was sent to me you might want to check out:--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

I don't really want to smear his name ,but his prices and time frames are way out of reason. It took 3 weeks to dyno my car, It took over a year for him to finish a rotary miata turbo with a way out price tag. I will not take my stuff to him because of price and if someone asks me I will tell them. I take my stuff to kilo racing Jesus and even people say his prices are high, but he was way cheaper than scott.....Scott told me $600 for a trans rebuild, got stuck in reverse, I took it to a shop that rebuilts for its racing, it was $275 out the door with aluimium bushings in the shifter...Your right on the money about scott ..........He told me to install the motor I bought from him around $1000 when I went to pick it up it was nearly twice that much.....

Mazsport Tampa

I would just like to clarify that I am in no way trying to smear Scott's name. If you have a big budget and money is not an option,or time for that matter, then Scott wouldn't necessrily be a bad choice. If you are like most and do have budget and time concerns then it would be advisable to take your business elsewhere.
I can only speak for myself, but the orginal message was intended as a private message and not meant to end up on the web. I feel for the consumer that winds up paying for more then he bargined for, I've been there! I guess you just have to chalk this up to one of life's many lessons.
I'm sure Mazsport has many satisfied customers, I just didn't happen to be one of them. Would I do business with them again...NO... and I would not intentionally set out to smear someone's name or business on the net. I will however inform anyone who asks about my experience with Mazsport. Consumers need to stick together and share this kind of information. I guess if you are an honest business then word of mouth is a good thing. I can just relate to what this guy went through.

more good news for all you people that have a car at mazsport right now or in the past.

yesterday i'm changing the airfilter and noticed some movement in the air inlet hose for the turbo. the end connecting it to the turbo was very lose and came off without much effort.

this morning the engine almost melted. apparently the power connection he made for the e-fan has burnned, charred, or melted.

yeah.

here's a reply to a private message you might want to read------------------------------------

i did talk to him yesterday.
he was very helpful getting the e-fan problem exchanged with flex-a-lite.

we also talked about everything else. he was aware of me posting a question on here due to some other people, i think. but, it's not like 'jvb' are my initials, so it wasn't exactly a secret.

i told him the same thing i told you about your dealings with him, the truth is the truth. it's not smearing anyone or trashing anyone.
the question realy should have been asked before , but, he was very knowledgeble and he seemed to have a decent understanding on the performance end.

but, when there are this many problems on everything someone else has touched after that much time and money, it is unacceptable. and i told him it has been a very dissapointing experience. i had 2 other engine projects and a stand alone i was considering having him do. was.

and, he asked why i did not call him and i said it was because of the attitude/impression he gave me. he seemed more interested in getting me there to pay him and getting me out. bad, bad communication. for me it's not about the money. it's about NOT getting stuck on the side of the road with a snapped brand new alternator belt, NOT having pieces just fall or pull right off, NOT having to spend most of the day trying to get a temporary fix on the e-fan, etc.

by the way, the e-fan does not appear to be any fault of mazsport/scott. bob at flex-a-lite said they had received a few calls about the 150's lately. so if you've bought one in the past 6 mo.s and it has given you any problems with hot wires, melting, or just not working you should probably give them a call. i talked to bob and he was very helpful. press '4' when you call and get the menu.

scott and i have had this conversation a few times now and i started wondering if anybody else had any of these questions/problems. and of course that made everyone else nervous because they were either getting ready to have him do work or had him do work in the past.

i'm getting a dyno run done next week and will have my regular mechanic check out the car. as long as that checks out o.k. i'm thinking that when the engine gets done later this year with a f.m.i.c. that will take care of the rest of my doubts on the car.

i guess i expected more from the time, trouble, and money. but, my regular mechanic said the work 'looks really nice'.
so, maybe i'm just not seeing it because of all the problems, time, and money that have not yeilded the results i expected.
but, who would.
