Have a good time guys.
I didnt plan this one... Vilmarie suggested it at Tangos and everyone went for it.so we are all going ..

Here is a suggestion.... Lwnslw thought that it would be a good idea to have it at a park where we can play softball... i suppose for the next one after this one... maybe some place up North like Aventura or Hallandale Beach Area.. that would be nice i think..

Alex , why dont you organize the next one.. pick a date and it will be your theme.... call it " Dont get freaky now...A Directfreak Production Meet"

Plan it Alex.... I am sure they will come.. (Field of Dreams)

as far as the miatas go..they suck. lol j/k listen folks, i had killer fd and honestly, i love the miata and actually like it more then the fd i had. i will eventually get an fd again one day, but for anyone that knows my car and has driven in it (simon and ali) can tell you that it definaly hang with many of the rx's performance wise....off the highway that is. when mazda 6's and the like start showing up to the event, then yeah, the so fla rx club will have to change names. not that there is anything wrong with the rest of the mazda family but lets face it, rotaries and miatas are mazdas most legedary cars period.
i for one am greatfull that i was still accepted into the club after i got rid of the fd. i have become friends with alot of you guys and you'll see that miata owners are every bit as passionate of theyre cars as rotary owners. i am and was both

Like Val stated, I think it would be a better get together if we go to a large park (Tropical,CB Smith,Crandon Park) that has amentities that we can use to have a better event for everyone. My personal opionion and mine alone is that Watson Island , though a nice location and backdrop, doesn't have bbq grills, fields or bathrooms that are of a major importance especially to those who bring their loved ones along to the meet. (small children). As stated before IT IS A SUGGESTION and by no means do I want to cause a big issue over this but instead looking for all club members input. Val asked me to post on here and get everyones input, so if anyone has any ideas or knows of any parks around Aventura/Hallandale or instead agree to the parks listed above, please chim in and let your voices be heard so we can finalize the plans for the meet.

I dont like Tropical Park because its too close to Kendall.
I dont really care for CB SMith Park because its a bit too West.
And Crandon Park may be an option but too short a Caravan Drive.

If considered I would prefer some place like Oleta River State Park at 3400 NE 167th Stree. Just west of Biscayne Blvd and North of FIU North Campus.

This park has everything...
Beach, Fishing, Canoeing, Kayaks, Mountain Bike rentals, Hiking Nature Trails, Mangroves, Manatees, Log Cabins, Pavilions, BBQ Grilles, Parking and Mosquitoes that come out at Dusk

Hallandale Beach Blvd or Haulover Park might also be a good option... I agree that Watson Island is nice and scenic but no bathrooms ... so I would be in favor of some other location further Northeast where we can have a really nice long caravan drive and to try something new.

i think CB Smith, markham park or Oleta are all good parks to have a meet at. we've already had meets at markam park so why not do CB smith or Oleta

I am checking some places and I want to post the link to Oleta River State Park. I used to work at this park as a Mountain Bike Patrol officer about 32 lbs ago....Phil called me today and he felt that it should be some place up north closer to Broward so the FT Lauderdale and Palm Beach people can make it also..... like Papsmagu suggested of Oleta I think its a great place but you be the judge by checking out the link:

We may be able to get a pavilion but it rents for $107.00 but i am sure that we can all chip in and also the admission is $3.00 for one person or $5.00 for the car load.

This park has everything... you can fish, swim, Kayak, Canoe, mountain bike, BBQ, plenty of bathrooms, If we dont get a Pavilion then we can take one of the grilles but someone would have to get there when the park opens and claim it. I know that we can have a great time at this park... you can bring the whole family and have a really great time.

This next link is for Oleta River State Park.
