Ok, Steve Stover is 100% in but he can not do it 8th & 9th or 22nd-23rd. Brian can not do it the 15-16th so that leaves July 1st or 29th. rx7lover_28734 Any of these weekends better for you? I am also waiting to here from another guy in TN still.

My trip to North Carolina will be around July 20 - 28ish tenatively.. and I've got the dates July 12 - 17 reserved for me, so anytime prior to that is fine. We can even do this in June if you'd like.

Well one problem with June is Don. We were trying to push it back as far in July as possible without hurting anyone in hopes Don will have his car ready. He has taken off work to do the engine swap but thats going to be mid July then he has to put a few miles on it. So again, I am open to any date, whatever makes this happen. So give me your thoughts..

Brian will need a place to crash. Since I am living with my inlaws (building a house) I can not put out the invite. Anyone have any extra bed?

Well if we can not shack him up in some ones house I am guessing it will cost us more.
Brian, maybe you could just try to get it done in 2 days and we will have to split the hotel fee's between us customers? There is a good chance my house will be done but I still have to have a final inspection. You just never know. But if we are in by then then problem solved.

No problem, just wish the pilot bearing wasn't such a monkey in the *** to remove since I was the one that made the suggestion to remove it...

Well it was for the best.. I did not get to work on the car today as one of my employee's called in sick just as I got down stairs to start setting the motor in.. DAMN!! I was pissed.. SO maybe late tonight I can set it in place but I still need to get a few gaskets and seals. I am going to look on line and see if i can order that way.

Well, I was able to do a little work today before the bottom fell out. Some good news... I don't have to drop my gas tank. I discovered what was moving around in there...

It appears the spot welds had come loose/broke in a few places and the baffle(s) was moving around with the gas. I had to use tin-snips to cut and then fold and bend enough to pull through the fuel pump access panel. My question is are these baffles/pieces crucial?

I just got a pm from Thomas1277 in TN. He wants to also come but still needs to install his FMIC and fuel system. Says he will not be ready by the end of the month. Sooo if we move it till the end of the month will:
A. BDC still be able to come?
B. Anyone have scheduling problems with that?
That would also give Don a chance to get his car done.. SO that would give us the chance to have 5 cars to tune and I am sure to be living in my new house so Bryan has a place to stay??? Feed back please!

Hey HDP,
I would definitely NOT recommend running without baffles! The fuel will slosh and move side to side and the pump can take in air...thus making for a dangerous condition for your engine. Not a good thing....

By the way...I am now in Huntsville for at least the next few months....

I would love to get my FD tuned...IF I can get the engine together and put some miles on it in time. I will monitor the thread for updates. Thanks...

What's up Greg. Welcome to HuntsVEGAS! Yeah, I bought some fuel cell foam to replace the baffles. It should arrive sometime next week.

going to fire it up in the morning!!

But back to the topic, not sure if any of you are on here but I need to finalize the tunning. If we have to pitch in a few bucks to put Brian in a hotel then fine with me. If we wait till the end of July my house will be done so he ca stay with me. SO who will be ready to have there car tuned by the end of July?

My thoughts are to wait until the last week of July to help accomodate for everyone. Also, I can hang out in your house if you don't mind, Mike.

Last week in July might not be bad for me to come and hang out. Sorry I can't get a tune but I don't think it's necessary right now with my mods, otherwise I would get one. Only thing is I believe there is a RX-8/RX-7 meeting at Barber's in B'ham on the 28th-30th. I think the RX-8 guys have a huge area reserved just for all the rotaries.
