Mike,

At this point I think it would be safe to say that I'm not in for the tuning. However, if I get certain things done in time I would like to tune. I know that's not the answer you're wanting to hear, as I know Brian needs to know well ahead of time. But at this point I'll agree with Don and say that it's just not feasible. Buying a PFC is one thing but I do think that the $350 could be used for mods. I do want to be there though.

Sure no problem.. Brian only asked for 3 cars... SO with the guy in TN, myself and Steve Stover we are covered. I just told Brian that I would try and get a few more cars lined up to make it worth his while.... I was not expecting you to show up with just a PFC but from the above post I was thinking you might be ready by then.. No worries though we should still be covered even if Don does not complete his car... I will post up more once I talk to Brian so we can set up a lunch or similar.....

FYI.....

Brad, I totally understand. I also think FD body is unique and still very well designed body.
If you are VERY interested in LS1 swap, come to the Seven Not Stock in Memphis. I'm actually going to go there to check out some 7s with V8s. Its next sunday. I'm heading to STL to visit my brother and on my way down, I was going to stop and check it out. It should be couple of hour drive for you.. maybe 3... If you want to meet, let me know and I could give you the DP... Also, I have an address of the meet.. I'll PM you if you want to join me.

Mike and other fellow rotary owners... There is a EFI101 training in Culman, GA (www.efi101.com). Its a $500 course but it might be worth attending. Dale Clark told me about it last weekend and I'm highly considering... I believe its a training session run by Motec guys. When you think about how many times you might change you set up and such, it might be worth the investment. Anyone interested, I'll sign up with you. As of now, me and Stephen are highly considering attending this class.

Also, I met a Haltech tuner in ATL last weekend. He's been tuning Haltech for 6 some years and he might be moving to ATL this august. He also thinks that he could tune PFC (its not his EFI of choice) and have tuned Tec 3, Microtec, Motec, etc. He will charge $300 for tuning.. Just in case those of you interested in Haltech, he will install and tune for $500. I'm going to go with Haltech for my 20B when its ready and I'm going to get him to tune it (I think John is very interested in bringing him to Bham). He currently reside in Dominican Republic and if we bring him now, we have to pay for his travel. Its probably cheaper for us to wait until he change his residency to ATL....

Something to think about...

Phil,

I'm interested in going to Memphis but of course I'll have to check with the wife first. Shouldn't be a prob since we're both off work on Monday and we can do our family stuff then. If you're going to Memphis, are you gonna travel Hwy 157/72 West? If so, 157/72 runs right through Muscle Shoals. You could just come here and I could follow you. Unless of course you'll be leaving a few days earlier and spending the night in Memphis? You're more than welcome to crash at my place along your journey if you're coming through Muscle Shoals on the way to Memphis. As long as you don't mind crashing on a big couch in the living room because I just turned our guest bedroom into a John Deere Tractor room for my 2 year old Then again my 2 year old could sleep with me and you could sleep in the John Deere Tractor Toddler Bed Let me know.

Guess I should've PM'ed this. Sorry to get off the subject of the thread.

Brad

Hey guys, Ok. Checked with my buddy and he's getting married on the 15th of July. So, I'll need from July 13 - July 17 as my time, any time after or before seems to be fine.

Brad,

I'm leaving here this thursday morning to Graceland then to St. Louis. So, I'll be coming from STL to Memphis on Sunday..

Address of the location is: *****?? Hernando MS 38632 (I'm not sure If I'm suppose to give this info out as its not listed on their website).

More info: http://www.team140.com/sevennotstock/

I believe its 20-30 minutes from Memphis.

This will be a great event if you are interested in LS1 RX7s. Hinson will be there to give some seminar and such..

I'm going to try to make it there by 1-2PM

How did it go? You guys become LS1 lovers after seeing them all!

I do want to make one point reguarding my above post.. I am in no way hating on the LS1 conversion... I would never do it personally but thats what makes cars so cool! If everyone wanted the same look and outcome it would be very lame, right!!! Seeing differant cars, differant set ups is what its all about. I can really understand the point behind the LS1 thing also.. I have not experienced first hand loosing several motors but I can imagine how one would be very pissed off if they lost 2-3 motors in a row.

Now back to the topic.. What date is good for not only a tune but for those just wanting to hang out?

Oh, what you guys think about the 94 in the paper for 18,900!

Sorry Mike, I don't get the same paper as you. What are details on this 94? As you know I paid $18,000 even for mine from Jason. And with only 26k on it when I picked it up, I'd pay that again in a heartbeat. Do you know the person selling this 94? Doc-1 in Madison drives a 94. Could it be his? I haven't heard from him since about the end of Page 1 of this thread.

The hanging out question: I wouldn't mind riding over to Huntsville to hang or eat. Chili's is my favorite place but we have one in Florence. What we don't have around here is a Hooters But whatever. It's all touch and go for me. This weekend is busy for since it's Memorial Day Weekend and I'm going over to "SEVEN NOT STOCK" to meet Phil on Sunday.

Its a 94 reman engine and turbos with 6k miles on them but 100+on drivetrain. It is a clean car. Only thing I did not like was the front bumper was wearing and I was not kean on his choice of wheels. But other than that the body is in very good shape. I did not see any dings or such. Interior looked to be in fair shape also. Just a tad high on the price I think.

Brad, Yeah Jasons car was worth it due to the very low miles on the car and came with a few nice add ons. It also sat in a garage for most of its life!

Doesn't anymore though Jason only put about 2,000 miles on it in 4 years. I've put 3,000 on it in 3 months

Re:tuning

I have a question for Brian. I have the following:
T62-1 single turbo
pfc and fc datalogit
no emission and block off plates
no cats and straight exhaust 3" all the way
wideband , avcr boost controller and 60mm HKS wastegate and 50mm bov
1600cc secondary and stock on the primary. supra nippondenso fuel pump.
dual oil cooler and FMIC by apexi.

How much reliable boost can I tune my car for with premium fuel and an octane boost and also how much power can I lay on the ground. I live in atlanta but will come specially for a good tune. I got a tune made for me in a shop that I don't want to mention to screw with their name but it is running awfully to rich. It hits in the 9:1 fuel ratio so I would like a better tune.

That would be great if you could come. That would make 4-5 cars and be enough to make this happen. I would like to here what Brian has to say on your question. As I was wanting to tune on pump w/alchol inj. to 19-20? Brian? Then 110 to 25-27psi.. With your 550's and nippo pump I would think 19-20psi would be a max safe area.

I am game to try it as long as you're willing to take the risks. Of course, I don't want you to blow up the motor I just built... that is, if it's going in the car soon.

What kinda time-frame do you guys want? I've got July 22nd ish area for the Northern Carolina guys set so we're looking closer towards June time (anytime) or July 1st to 2nd week, nothing after July 12. I have July 12 - 17 reserved for my buddy's wedding.
