BRIAN CAIN "BDC" TUNING IN HUNTSVILLE, AL.
BRIAN CAIN "BDC" TUNING IN HUNTSVILLE, AL.
Here is the current list of cars signing up for a tune from Brain Cain in Huntsville, AL. We will work out the date (s) and dyno prices this week. So far we have 7 with 1-2 more that may sign up. Not sure how many Brian will fit in so sign up quick!
1. Sk8world
2. 85rx-7gsl-se
3. dustinali (pending completion, awaiting on aluminum back from slonsho)
4) Doc-1
5)boost
6)chris
7) Blackrpm93
Tuning will take place in Huntsville, AL. I am most likely setting this up at Static X Motorsports in Madison. Here is there link: www.staticxmotorsports.com
Brian charges $350 per car. Usually Brian charges for his fligth on top of this but with so many cars signing up I am trying to work this into the $350. I will let Brian decide on that. Dyno prices to come this week but you always have the option of street tuning, or do both! The nice thing about this dyno is it is a dyno dynamics (load bearing).
Now on to the date. Brian has been on the road (plane) doing quite a few cars in the last few weeks and was asking if the end of the month or the first week in June would be ok. So if one of these dates can work out for ALL of us that will be great.

that should work for me. I should be able to finish and break in by then. I might need to borrow your datalogit some time sk8world to load up a base map if that would be ok.

Well Brian will not be able to do all 7 cars in one day. He spends allot of time on each car. I would say 4-5 max a day more like 3. So it may be best to do 3-4 on Saturday and the remaining 3-4 on Sunday.
i know most everyone at static x on a first name basis, i really like the loaded dyno they have.
the last dyno day i had up at static x it was 20$ (per run) for 2WD w/o wideband and 25 with.
but that was with a lot bigger group

For that many cars, to do it right, I'll nneed atleast a few days if not 4-5. I like to take my time. I am not a drive-thru, here's your fries and ketchup tuner, as you'll see when I'm there.

Brian, I was curious if you can tune piston motors too. I have a friend with a supercharged 240sx running megasquirt. Let me know and I might be able to make the tuning list bigger.

This could start getting messy! I would think most can not tune during the week and HAVE to have it done on the weekend (Friday night thru Sunday night). Just my thoughts.
Here are few quick questions as this is my first time dealing with a standalone and ECU tuning. I am debating between street tuning and dyno tuning. One major consideration is expense. I am a college student and my 7 takes all my cash. Does Brian do street tuning? I am thinking that my S4 TII with a Microtech LT10s, cone filter, high flow exhaust, and some SE 680cc secondaries shouldn't be too difficult to tune. Also, what about the Air/Fuel Meter? I have a narrowband in the car right now, but I know a wideband is needed for tuning. Does Brian provide his own A/F meter for tuning and if so, would he even be able to temporaly mount for street tuning? I know this is alot of questions, but I just want to get my ducks in a row and not wait till the last minute to figure things out. Thanks in advance.
Static, No I have not contacted them yet. I was waiting on a set date and how many wanting dyno time. I was going to use that to help with pricing.
85rx-7gsl-se, Brian can street or dyno tune. Most tuners prefer the street as it is"real world". However the nice thing about Static X's dyno is you can put differant loads on it to simulate driving and hit differant cells on your map! But it is cheaper and usually quicker to street tune . Just watch out for cops.
Yes, Brian will have a wideband, its the only way he can tune!
Thanks sk8world. You cleared up most of my concerns. My thought as of right now is to have it street-tuned and then maybe a run or two on the dyno just to get some hp and torque #'s.
Last time brian was here we street tuned and then went to the dyno for high boost/race fuel. Thats really the best way to do it.
Ok I will contact Brian and see about June 2nd-3rd area. Last time Brian stayed with me and that should be ok again. But I may have other visitors coming around that same time and staying with me (baby due for family member). So we may need a back up place for him to stay. (He does stink like gas and oil) Oh, wait, thats from tuning my car!!!!!!!!
