NC Borrow Compression tester?

Anyone got a compression tester I can use in the Raleigh area or surrounding. Trying to see if my engine is fine or needs rebuild. Currently got it out after my compressor wheel exploded. From the looks of things the intercooler soaked up all the damage.

Well if someone in the area could help me out that would be great!!!

If you can't find anyone, you could always pick up a Craftsman comp tester from Sears and return it after you use it. I've done that once or twice when I was in a bind, though you might want to verify the return policy just to be safe. Who knows, maybe you'll like it enough to hang on to?

Compared to the $3000 Mazda unit? No. However it will give you a very good indication of your engine's condition just the same.

Edit: Just don't forget to disable the check valve in the thing, heh.

I've got a dial compression tester if you ever need it. What kind of turbo was it? How bad was the carnage?

Ouch, what turbo brand is that? Any ideas why it failed?

comp turbo. idk. was thinking engine blown. sounds good. sold my alternator, and turns out it was bad and one of my leading coils was busted.. sounds like a good reason for going lean..

Comp Turbo is probably why it failed, they're pretty failure prone these days. Have you tested the motor yet? Hopefully nothing bad happened there.
