Black FD in Winston-Salem

I passed a black FD with what looked to be a C-West front bumper and mirror tint on the rear hatch on Silas Creek Pkwy today. Anyone on here? If so, nice car.

I guess I should have yelled "The RX-7 Club knows about you!" then.

how many are there in winston?

Another winston FD owner here. My '94 is currently at rotorsports in Kannapolis getting some much needed TLC and under-the-hood enhancements. I know of 2-3 red FD's, and another montego blue like mine. How many do we think exist? Maybe we could start our own support club :-)

There used to be another silver one in w-s. not sure if it's still around. also, there is a black one undergoing the V-8 conversion.

Well I'm a little late joining the party, but yep, that was me. You're not by any chance the one I egged on one day to do a burnout on Reynolds Blvd, are you? Anyway, thanks for the complements...you must not have been too close to the car

Hey Hooman...things still going well on your car? I keep glancing over at your house on the way home hoping to get a peek at it...

jacastle...you don't happen to be over off of Darwick, do you? I've seen a montego parked at a house on that street.

Guess all I have to add is that there's one more VR FD in the area. Single turbo, J-spec rear wing, and GTC front clip. VERY clean car...

Silver RX-7

You may have seen my silver RX-7 around town. I currently live in Georgia, but I am moving back to NC soon. I have been storing my '94 silver RX-7 at my parents house in Winston-Salem. My dad takes it out about once a week for a trip around town. You guys may have seen him...or not. Anyway, it sounds like there a a few RX-7's in the WInston area and we could all get together sometime.

Yeaaaaah, you might be the one that I saw at Taco Bell. I thought it was silver93, but I watched and he didn't get into the car. (I was across the street at BK). Didn't realize there were so many FD's in Winston. Funny we don't run into each other more often.

Smile Another FD in Winston Salem

Hey guys! I never see any other FD's when I'm driving around town. Yeah, "Delta's" car will be sick once the transformation is complete (wink wink).
Anyway, the weather has been so nice I've finally made time just to ride around and it would be nice to see some others out and about. I've got a 93 MB touring with factory wheel painted flat black. I saw the silver one today with the mirror tint on Silas Creek earlier this evening. Sounded pretty good, wish I had been in mine. If you guys ever plan to meet up, let me know........Thanks.

Silver one, or black one on Silas? I'm up and down that street every morning and afternoon. So I apologize in advance if I **** any of you off.. DAMN I get annoyed with slow people in the fast lane on that road!

FemaleTuner, did you have your car on a trailer recently? I had seen a MB one with painted wheels in the lot with La Carreta/Papa's/Play It Again a couple times, and then saw it on a flatbed being towed somewhere and haven't seen it since... Thought it was one of my old friends' that used to have a MB with painted wheels, but he sold it to someone who wanted to make it a track car.

Any of you guys ever go up to VIR for the open track days?
We should all get together sometime and go for a drive. There's some decent roads around here.

Smile

I bought the car back in May from a guy in DC who had the car built by Peter Farell. I drive around mostly on the weekends with the occassional evening cruise. I'm actually trying to sell mine, it's on AutoTrader, I'm planning on law school and need something less time consuming. If you guys can help, I would greatly appreciate it...........

Oh yeah! I know the place you're talking about. I'm over at La Carretta and Sharp Chiropractic, right beside there, quite often. Hmmm, that may actually be the car I was thinking of, then. The wheels looked identical. This guy sold his to someone either up in the DC area or in VA, can't remember which...

Sorry to hear you're selling the car though. But I totally understand...it definitely requires a lot of TLC....

You happen to be at BK today? I saw a black FD in the parking lot on my way home from work.

And where is the silver one located at? I swear I saw a silver FD in a driveway on Polo Rd the other day.

I live in Crowne Oaks, on Bethabara. My Rex isn't down here yet as it's back in NY. I'm driving a silver Mazda 6 right now.

Word. That one corner on Silas right before Country Club road is the absolute worst. Everyone slows down to about 20mph right there for some damn reason, and it pisses me off every damn day. I have to take Silas every day to merge on to 40, and it seems like I cannot make it to the on ramp in under 20 minutes no matter what time it is.

Yeaah, I used to go to Bethabora Moravian church a while back. How do you like the 6? Looks like a nice car to me but I haven't ridden in one yet. Hey, you guys flash your lights at me or something so I'll see you...

Yep, I know the corner you're talking about. Everyone's afraid they're gonna flip their car or something...

Excellent, definitely will. ****, I wish I had known you guys were all so close. All of my buddies live in a house on Minorcas, I'm over there all the damn time.

You'll all definitely get a high beam flash next time. I can't wait to get my Rex down here so I can actually have a pack to roll with now.

That's cool there's so many of us around here. I can't believe I haven't stumbled on you guys driving around, at least at SOME point...

Yeah, yeah, silver93, I NORMALLY would have had your back, but I was feasting on a tasty Whopper and I couldn't just let that go to waste...... Still haven't installed the aquamist yet. I figured since I have to go and tap into the injectors for it, I might as well go ahead and put some 1600's in. Just don't have the money for the whole thing yet since I had to write some tax checks and it's also time for tires again..... But I finally put the KAAZ LSD in and the M2 trailing/toe links. Man that KAAZ is harsh! I'm used to ragged edges but that thing pushes the limits of streetability!

Phil finally got everything back together. He fixed his turbos and the body first, putting on some Garrett turbo I think, and a GTC front end. The first single turbo he got ended up being a debacle with nothing fitting right, but ultimately he got that second one on there. We went to the dyno and he made like 450rwhp, but then the next week blew the engine. So after about a year of being down and only one or two weeks of running, he had to tear it all back down again. But last I heard, he had rebuilt the engine again (was a failed apex seal), and he was fighting to try to get the LM1 wideband working. I think the RPM box wasn't working out for him.

Well it sounds like we have a good support group around here!

the KAAZ is harsh, huh? how do you like the M2 toe links? was thinking about doing that later in the year.

Are you saying you're gonna tap the WI into the injectors? How does that work? (I just tapped an injector into the elbow of the TB intake).

Hope Phil's car gets back up and running. Are you doing any auto-x this year?

Yeah, the KAAZ feels about like my broken torsen, as far as shaking the car and loud popping... But I can put up with that as long as it's not hurting anything...

The aquamist has to tap into the wires going to an injector so that it can determine injector duty to give you a true 3D map. Then I'll have to do a water injector into the elbow, too. Think it's probably going to be a pain to install....

Hoping to do at least a few autocrosses this year after taking all of last year off. Thinking I might go out with the intention of playing, more than getting good times this year. I think playing is more enjoyable.
