Exclamation A very stern review

So I decided to pull the trigger and take advantage of the cheap Wilwood moving day sale price these guys had on their website, and went crazy adding in the rears too. UGH I can't even begin to describe my experience!

First, I ordered two days ago, TWO DAYS!!!!! They sent me an e-mail telling me that the fronts would be shipping out, but the rears would take an additional week?! What the hell! I am so disappointed!!! Usually, this whole thing should take months and months of me hounding them daily until they close their doors and open up in another state under a different name, like SAK3B0MB Hustlers or something! There is no place in the automotive world for having things delivered in a couple of weeks! Then, I replied to the e-mail informing them that I would be writing a strongly worded review on the forums about them, and Christian (the devil's name!) had the gall to answer my questions after hours about a set of Ohlins DFVs! I mean it was like 7-8pm and this guy had the nerve to respond to my e-mail within a few minutes answering most of my questions. I was watching World of Color at Disneyland with my wife and my phone was buzzing through the whole show with Christian responding to my e-mails. Finally he gave me the shop phone number and told me to call him tomorrow and either him or Heath would answer any more questions! What the heck?! I mean, the audacity of asking ME to call HIM!?! What horrible customer service!

Finally I called him today, and Heath answered the phone. Apparently Christian was busy helping other customers and didn't have the courtesy to even talk to himself, despite telling me to call him. Then, Heath proceeded to answer every single question I had in extreme detail, explaining how the Ohlins worked, how they were different from other makers, comparing them to my current set up, and a whole bunch of other questions I had. I mean he spent a good 30 minutes or so on the phone with me, doesn't he actually do any work?! Then he proceeded to offer me such a rip off discounted price on the Ohlins, which I promptly ordered. I swear, there is no place in the automotive world for this kind of customer service. Super bad review, never will go here again!

Seriously, unless you guys want to suffer through prompt communication, detailed explanations about their products and incredible pricing and shipment a couple days after order, AVOID THIS SHOP!

EDIT: ... Just incase it wasn't clear, this review is 100% sarcastic... The service from SakeBomb was incredible and I do highly recommend them. Had a few interactions with both Heath and Christian, both of em were right up on the ball with me. No complaints at all from me. Give them your money without hesitation.

Thumbs up

Yeah, those guys went WAY above and beyond the call of duty to help finally get my FD back on the road. I'm pretty pissed that they run such a tight shop and keep offering more and more nice parts I want for my RX-7. Now I wanna spend another 2 grand there at least. How am I supposed to sneak THAT under my wife's radar??

They even met me at the shop after hours so I could have my car back for the weekend. What kind of rotary shop does THAT? In the Bay Area no less??
I also got jealous of all of the hideously nice cars at their shop which was pretty weak as well. What? A supercharged ND? A time-machine FD that looks like it rolled out of the dealer last month? That's the stuff I want!

This is Hell

[/sarcasm x1,000,000] Thanks again Sakebomb!

Hmmmm....it seems to me that you actually got nothing BUT good service from them...so why so critical?
I tell you, if I was them, I'd tell you to go fornicate with a goat.

j/k, obviously.

But how often have we seen someone skim through or not even read the content of a post and jump to a conclusion?

Great review on a great shop, by the way.

Lmao! I’m not gonna lie, I was like “wtf” when I read the title and after the first two sentences thought to myself: “I’m gonna tell this fool how amazing Heath and the gang really are!” but after a couple more sentences realized what this truly was.

SBG is the best doing it right now. I’m pleased to say I chat with Heath via text frequently, mostly about cars, sometimes about dogs. He’s top notch and the company is a reflection of his character, and I’m sure Christian’s as well, though I’ve never spoken to him personally.

And it’s not even like I buy tons of stuff from him either. Sadly, I haven’t got a lot of disposal income at the moment and have probably only spent about $1,000 with them over the past couple years, which factoring in tight margins, really isn’t a heckuva lot. But, every time we talk, he treats me like I’m his best customer. That’s the real secret sauce there.

Now I've just got to figure out how I’m going to pay for an AP BBK, IGN-1A kit, Ohlins DFV’s, aluminum passenger handle, and SBG headlights. Anyone know of a bank with a sleepy old guard?

Nick

Updating this thread. I am so freaking crazed right now.

So It's been a few weeks since I ordered my Ohlins and they haven't shown up yet. I give heath a call and he's like "Nah man, we sent em out on the 26th according to our records, they were left on your front door on the 29th according to FedEx. So I'm sitting here going "omgwtfbbq, someone jacked my Ohlins." Then Heath had the nerve to open a FedEx claim for me, and have this guy from FedEx calling me while I was at work! I mean don't these people realize that I can't pick up my phone except during very specific times?! Gawd!

I get home and check the boxes and everything. Granted it's like almost 7 and I called Heath back and he picked up. What a terrible work-a-holic! I mean come on, this is America! Work-Life-Balance! Anyways, after like half an hour on phone with him while my family was waiting for me to go out for dinner, we finally figured out that the box he sent was the front brakes. THESE GUYS NEVER SHIPPED OUT MY OHLINS!!!! I mean, Christian did get them out the very next morning and they just arrive on Thursday and all that, but still, my god, over 2 weeks to get me my Ohlins?! There is no place for that in the automotive world, it should have been more like 2-3 months!

Still waiting on my rear brake calipers. Gawd, knowing them it's gonna take like a week to get here. Absolutely appalling.

Well I have been trying to contact Sakebomb since february 20 via email, instagram, facebook and had no response from them :/ I bought a IGN1 universal kit from them and they needed some measurements for the fabrication of the spark plugs wires which I send in the email and facebook but had no answer since then, I'm not trying to hurry them or anything, just want to know if they received the message and give me some eta on when it will be done. I'm from Panama, Central America and when I try to call them (number in their facebook page) it says that the number is incorrect. Did anyone have contacted them recently or can give me a number so I can contact them please?

Thanks in advance,

Jonathan

Already got back to ya! Crimping up your custom wires this weekend. Thanks for sitting tight

Sorry to anyone waiting on responses from the last day, we've been adding some new equipment to the install/tuning/repair side here for the local guys. Finally coming together with the dyno, three lifts, alignment, corner balance, and a really awesome team of fantastic people! Dave, Christian, Greg, Travis... at some point you guys probably have talked with all of them.
