RE Amemiya's booth at Tokyo Auto Salon

Amemiya-san wasn't there and I was hoping he would be, but his car's were there anyway. Check em out:

Please excuse the quality of the pictures, I'm not a photographer. I just wander around and take pictures. Everyone was taking pictures of the rear end on the blue RX7. It has such a strikingly different look to it. I was more interested because of how famous it is for winning races.

Anyway there were two blue ones there so don't let them confuse you. The only one with the hood open featured a 20B rotary engine. Not much details except for 527 PS. Both of the cars used 10f/9r kg/cm spring rates which I thought was interesting considering the cars are built so differently. I guess that must just be a magic number for RE Amemiya.
The 3 rotor 20B RX7 had all plastic windows with fixed open vents. The rear hatch was some sort of composite material (you can see the hood pins) while the rear glass was plastic. But it looked just like glass! None of the weird light bending you normally see.

It's really difficult to see, and I should've taken more pictures, but the aero design is so striking on the blue 13b car. The rear diffuser folds over to make a channel like a cone. I don't understand it, but I could tell it was all top notch and way above my level. Take a look at the front diffuser too, it makes the same channel but I can't tell where the air goes. It looks like it's directed onto the tire but that can't be right. That diffuser is deceivingly long too. It goes in at least another foot past what you see so the downforce has to be incredible. It makes sense though.

Was anybody else there? I saw a lot of foreigners.

Nice pictures. I'm amazed Amemiya has been able to keep the FD'S alive and refreshed with styling all these years later.

Is that a torque brace on the 3 rotor's lower half of the alt. bracket?

Oh cool you found him! I thought he would be there.

I'm not sure what that is on the 3 rotor's alternator bracket.

The level of detail in RE's cars are just amazing, I would love to see them in person.

I wanted to go this year but money would not allow, I'm hoping to make it out to TAS next year.
