If memory serves correctly, they covered this on a later part of the rally coverage. I'm pretty sure it didn't go IN THE HOLE. just left a nasty mark on one of the cheeks(which I think they showed). again, if memory serves correctly.

when they went back through the stage, they found it was a piece of rebar sticking up out of the road, right when their suspension compressed. tough bugger, it had to break through the underbody of the car, and the carbon-fiber seat!
