I know no one wants to see FD's get **** on by a Honda but damn, Jack Mardikian is an amazing driver. For those that don't know he drove the Twins Turbo built FD RX-7 that set the unlimited RWD record at Buttonwillow Raceway Park.

It really is all about the driver though...dang.

watching that video i had two thoughts "damn thats alota fd's running" and the second was when he was splitting the cars near the beggining "please dont hit the fd please dont hit the fd please dont hit the fd" lol little close but thats racing i guess
The reason why he's passing everyone is because he's driving a piece of **** honda like a mad man and cutting and diving in front of cars that are 4 times the cost and they all get out of his way so they dont' get their cars ruined. You can see most of the other drivers are taking the turns on the outside and not to the inside to let this crazy aggressive driver through. No way this honda would beat a full blown race viper with a top notch driver in it.

He was going really hard in the beggining of the race. If im one of those FD drivers, Id be cautious and make sure he's not close to hitting me or something....by the looks of the video, he was cutting it pretty close though.
Where's that video of him driving the Time Attack Rx7???

Sounds like excuses to me...yes he was aggressive in the start but thats a part of competitive road racing. You can see him gain on the blue FD around ~3:50 just by hitting his apex and the FD kinda driving by it.
Heres him driving the RX-7 on Buttonwillow against the Twins Turbo Supra:

AWESOME video!!!
like many of us, i started out with a honda and moved up when i felt i needed a change. This guy is truly a great driver. The honda is alot lighter and is faster around the curves. I agree with Mahjik, on a track with more straights he wouldnt be so ahead of the pack.

There's a clear difference in driving ability shown in the video. That's all there is to it. Of course, that Civic is definitely at a high level of tune as well, and probably costs just as much as a lot of the other cars its competing against.
