That was actually a trailer for the last GT if i'm not mistaken; i saw that about a year-2 years ago.

 

that thing made me its so good to know that even though our cars are no longer in production, we are still held at such a high level of respect even in 2006!

hey, go in that same site, look for GranTurismo HD Japanese trailer, and suposidly thats not video footage, thats actual game footage. imo the ps3 isnt worth the 300 beans, but that game makes it worth it, couple it with the new logitech steering wheel ($300) and have yourself a nice simulation Setup

IIRC the steering wheel is supposed to have a 6speed gearbox and a clutch pedal

Someone needs to put the pipe down, there is not a more realistic racing game on the market aside from crashing your car. The time spent on physics of each car is unbelievable.

By the way got my 60GB PS3 tonight la la la, just walked into EB and asked them if they had any in stock and he said he just got to 60GBs in.

Can't wait to get this thing hooked up.

live for speed on the pc is more realistic and much cheaper. With the 900 degree wheel, its by far the best simulator Ive tried. The demo is free and gives you one track and a few cars I think.

Not true. Gran Turismo is a nice game, no doubt. The selection of cars is absolutely fantastic. The depth of the game is amazing.

However, I would not consider it the most realistic game at all. In fact, I'm on the fence about whether or not to even consider it a true simulation. You should check out games like GPL and Live for Speed. These games are more realistic in my mind. I hate to sound like an elitist, but IMO, true simulations can only be found on the PC right now.

Well, seems I completely missed your post. I agree, LFS is a much more realistic game than GT is. How long have you been playing for? I've been playing since well before S1 was released, and I think it has progressed very nicely. A while ago, I toyed around with the idea of joining and team and participating in leagues, but decided to allocate most of my time to competitive CS instead. Well that fell through the floor, and it's back to LFS I go. :p

Wasn't the Japanese Domestic Market FD produced untill 2002? I heard of the "Sprit R" and other special versions.

I tried it out @ E3, and the stick feels too cheap and flimsy (since it was made out of plastic). Felt like you can break it WAY too easily. It was even hard finding proper gears!
