I absolutly love the colour! that is the exact colour that I want to paint my car. when light hits it, it looks like a rich, deep candy red, but the parts that have no direct light on them look dead black. it looks so sick at night. driving down the street it looks black, but when you pass a street lamp it shimmers bright red for a second. its kind the same colour as 'the red driver" obviously this pic doesn't do the colour ANY justice.

I would love to see you model the bunout kit as stated above (black car) and use the colour that you've already got because that is basically what I plan on doing to my car in real life. it'd be kinda cool to get a sneak peak at it.

Hey, I talked to you on MSN and over on CG society. The car is looking MUCH better. still a lot of weird mesh but it would be easy to clean up. The HDRI renderings look a bit plastic but you can tweak those more when the car is closer to being finish. I'll comment more for C&C over on CG society if you've updated over there.

^^ Awsome job man. the proportion of the car shape and shading is very very close to real. except maybe the pimping 20" wheels. i've seen rx-7 model attempts that comes out too fat or too short on the body dimensions. I bet this will still look just as real in a live action environment.

looks a little too metal too me. especailly when the camera is over the car. model looks good though. nice reflection map.

i am also a full time maya user.
my old website is hosted HERE

I havent updated it in two years, since I got a full time job, but there is some of my old freelance and odd projects.

I stared a FC model, but never have time for it... between real job, baby on the way, freelance and the FC...

i dunno, the front end does look too much like a miata. it's not bad but the signal lights are way too big. they look like rips from the JDM signals, but enlarged.

That looks incredible! How do you get the body styling and curves so close in that program?
