That was Tetsuya Ota in a 1998 JGTC race and he did walk away from the crash.

Yes, that's a old video.

The reason it exploded because when he slammed into the porsche, it was the only front mounted engine porsche racing at the track the ferrari's gas tank his the engine and well when you have spark plus gas...boom.

The guy in the Ferrari didn't make it. There was a law suit against the track for taking so long to respont to the incident also.

actually the guy in the ferrari DID make it........he was stuck inside for about a minute before saftey crew got him out. i can't even begin to imagine what that woulda felt like........
