SO i just put 2 jl w3 and I have an alpine v12 amp when got a 1200w amp wiring kit now my car seems to not have enough power to even jumpstart I tested the altinator and it was good and the battery was new I was wondering if having to big of a power wire drain my battery.

 

Are you powering those components at any time when the car is off?

That significantly drains the life out of a battery, even if its new. If i were you, id get an optima battery if you have alot of audio equipment. And for future reference, whenever you use audio, have the car run.

And when you tested the alternator, how did you do it?

 

i took it to auto zone and they tested it off the car they said it might not be putting out enough amps but they could tell unless it was on the car

 

taking the alt off and testing it off the car doesnt really TEST it per say? it be better is you tested the alt in the car that way it is a true reading of what the alt is doing in the car . As far as you audio stuff how is it wired up to use power? is it to the ignition or radio remote line? maybe you need two alts? or two batts??? see how much power is being drawn out if its like more then 15 amp from the alt you might need a stronger alt/battery.

these are my guesses cause i had something like this in my pos kia.....yeah i had boom boom in the kia LOL 1500watts alpine setup. i dont have that car anymore thank god
