Running On Basemap?
So its about time that im going to install my rtek 2.0 in my s5 t2. I just wanted to know how well the basemap runs? My plans with this car is summer car/track events. I have stock s5 t2 with 150,000 kms, 725/725 id injectors, rising rpm rails, Walbro 255 + Rewire, aeromotive fpr, racing beat dp+cat delete, apexi n1 single, hks evc running @ 8psi and aem wideband. My plans were to run my rtek with the base settings on 720/720 and learn how to tune. Is it safe to run on the track with basemap or should i still be adding fuel, etc?

You have an exhaust on the car which increases flow a bit, before going to the track I would do some highway pulls and have a friend watch the wideband, getting on it a bit more each time to verify afrs are in check. Honestly I would be more worried about the stock load based timing maps, arghx came up with timing maps that seem to be working well in this thread . From the thread SilverFC88 made he said in the dyno slip section where he made 438whp here at post 10 and 11 that he is still using those arghx timing and split maps with water meth. What I deduce from that is those maps are pretty safe, especially at the power levels you're going to be making with a stock turbo.

I always cringe when people ask questions like this.
The Rtek "basemap" is the stock ECU. If your car will run with the stock ECU, then you are fine. But I assume you got a stage 2 because the stock ECU is not enough for your mods (and I would agree). So I would be cautious of running any kind of track days without at least minimal tune verification.
Only you can know if the basemap is good for your car by monitoring the wideband like Spike said.
