i checked the connection between the turbo and afm seems good no holes in coupler and on tight , coolent sensoe reading normal as well.

Ill be gone for a week, going to try swaping afm also next week and maybe probe some wires.

when i swaped tps, the other tps only read 97% at wot, vs 94% on the other one,z results seemed roughly the same. Im wondering how big of a roll the tps plays in fueling

The differences in values at WOT you mention are nothing to be concerned with. However idle values are important.

Okay, yeah try a diff afm, maybe that'll be it.. the tps readings are barely off so i wouldnt worry about it. Have you adjusted the tps to specs? Also i havent ran a tps for a little over 2 years with no crazy problems. I was going to try to find the problem on why every tps i installed wouldnt let my engine rev but it actually runs great unplugged. Afrs stay at my goals so thats all that matters. Man it could be alot of things, sorry cant really help from here

There was a local guy that I helped with a similar problem though it was an S5. I went over his house and he couldn't duplicate the problem. I was monitoring the Rtek from the passenger seat and saw nothing. I left. 10 minutes later he calls me back and says it's doing it again. We drove around a bit and finally it happened. It was clear from the Rtek data what it was.

The TPS would stick after it warmed up. So it ran great when cold, but after it warmed up it would stick. And because the TPS's spring kept the plunger against the throttle body, when it stuck, there was nothing to force it, the throttle body just moved without the TPS following it.

Just putting it out there.

wow is all I can say.... so after thinking and thinking I came up with a crazy theory while I was away...

so they allways say it allways links back to the thing u did before hand, even it its not related at all... or so it seems.

so I had been having a sticking throttle sometimes and would spray wd40 on the linkage and it would be normal for a while again.( would stick slightly and give me like a 3K idle )

so right before the problem happened I had sprayed ALL the throttle linkages including the double throttle vaccum thingy . and played with them all

which I normally just spray the main throttle.

I still have the double throttle, but I don't have the vaccum hooked up for it

my theory:
so I thought what if that vaccum pot was gummed up stuck down in "cold mode" and they were not opening? and I had tuned the car with it like this...

but this spray everything and play with all the linkage, freed it up.

these not opening would drastically change the Volumectic efficieny of the engine,
closed =less air, less fuel, less power, open more air more fuel more power. (needing more fuel, explaining me going quite lean at mid throttle when they open normal)
so I tried it
I zip tied it closed and my a/f were back where they were before the incident!!!
explained why the car felt more responcive after the incedent, but with the lean afr ran poorly.

I have tuned the car for the double throttle stuck closed!
might explain why with such a large turbo the car really never felt THAT fast,

so I belive i need to completely retune the car now... and should make a decent amount more power as well though

Damn thats nuts! its possible. i hate when you find something that forces a retune! butttt you should have some more powahh now if thats the case? get after & and post some after you get that done

well so mostly zeroed out my maps and started retuning the car, and it was very rich kept taking more fuel out started looking like id end up where I was before with fuel removed , so I reput my old maps back in and car runs fine again.... like it had been for a long time and the double throttle is indeed opening everytime

so im not sure what was going on now... maybe after letting car sit and zip tieing the throttle and running it it had just fixed it self some how....

gremlins?
yah car works, but sigh.. don't know what was the problem in the first place...

Mine are gone, I still get some issues because of the Palm T3 being crappy. but i got a Serial dock so now the Palm sits on the "cable" instead of the cable being in the *** end of the Palm. I get some extreme lean if i try to hotstart, but a few seconds of light driving to get some airflow it goes back down.

i cant do much tuning i'm scared. my daily finally crapped out (rx8) and i'm trying to find 2 housings & a rear iron then its build time.

plus had several errors tring to reload the map... man that palm t3 is buggy, is it just that model or are all the palms like that?
